Someone on Reddit said

“Spot on, your meter has sent a total reading. just submit r01 manually online and send them an email to explain with a picture of the r01 and r02 readings. They may be able to fix it their side but as it's a smets1 they'll likely just change the meter”

So 46227 is the actual reading the meter is messing up with the totals (46227 line's up with the other readings)
Just need to call and explain the issue with pictures of the meter.
And yes as it's smets1 they likely cannot fix it so it's easier getting smerts2 installed.

Can someone help explain why our electricity bill this month is £638 (offices closed so can’t call)

5x what it is usually which is about £100 normally. On the usage history showing virtually same usage

That's showing your total cost so far for the year (2025)

You need to chose, month not year.

This was the case, phoned up and he said basically normally meter would send back reading from number 6 (rate 1) but for some reason it’s decided to send from number 9 (which I think is combined r1 + r2)

So stopping billing from last months reading, and restarting a fresh from this months reading going forward. And just pay what we owe from the pics I send him.

We had something similar ~18 months ago, turned out I had mistyped the something like the second digit in our reading!

I saw some images of that a few days back.

looks damn impressive ;)

I just hope it all goes ahead. maybe I am being captain negative but it's got to the point now with any of these green initiatives , I just don't believe any of them will happen until I see them with my own eyes

Well what do you know. First one U-turn then two or three come at once. Previously approved gas and oil licences could be reapproved reducing the needs for importing gas and oil from Qatar and the USA. Don't count your chickens yet Ed.

Im not sure them reapproving previously approved licences would be a u-turn.

They specifically said no new licences, in my mind these aren’t new and would have been a factor in the aforementioned pledge.

I read today in The Times that the government is planning to subsidise power costs for energy intensive businesses. To me this seems like the easy option - throw money at the problem rather than reforming the market

Aye but then they said no more drilling would be approved even those previously approved. Something to do with quantifying the carbon from the use of all that oil and gas.
Just pull it in from the dictatorships.

Don't get me wrong, I would congratulate Labour if they made this commonsense decision.

pretty sure the commitment is no new licences, not no new drilling. Even under their own net zero plans, they expect to be consuming a considerable amount of oil and gas out beyond 2050.
