That router could be a decent little project router if you flash DD-WRT or similar onto itThinking of going full-fibre with PN. Would you take their 'Hub Two' router, or do your own thing?
I already have an Asus RT-AC68U which I've ben using with PN FTC for years, so could use that, but that's 10 years old now and due an upgrade either way.
Before moving to aquiss I moved around most of the big name suppliers (including PN and sky) using my own modem/router. Each time it was just a case of rebooting modem and reconnected no noticeable difference in any outside of sky requiring a special DHCP setting and vodafone for some reason was absolutely terrible and I ended up cancelling within my cool down period. Never needed to use any ISPs support though.PN are no better or worse than other ISPs If you’re connection is with OR in my opinion. Best tech support is via their forum where they seem to follow up queries. I was with PN for around 15 years before I moved to BT to get FTTP but two years later I was back with PN after ditching home phone.
You will not need 2 devices, you have a optical network connection fitted by Openreach that connects to your current plusnet router. I'd check the current routers web interface which should show current uptime on the wan just to ensure its not a wireless problem or something else.On PlusNets Full Fibre (fttp) I'm having constant dropouts all of a sudden and I'm not getting any help from support. It's dropping and resetting probably 4 times an hour which takes the whole house offline until it's back up.
What's a compatible router I could grab to confirm if it's the Hub causing issues? I don't mind if it's not the cheapest as if it solves the problem it can just remain in place.
It needs to be easy to use, cause I'm dumb, but also have decent security options cause I'm scawed of Russia.
I get confused if I need two items with one modem only or one combined.
Cheers

No need for the logs, 50 days uptime says its reasonablely unlikely to be the wan.I have located the logs for this morning if it's helpful, though I'm wary of posting all the IPs and Mac addresses of things.
I did it on the 19th July and they connected me on the 24th. I could choose a later date but I had to do it earlier.I presume the best time to sign up is as close to the 31st March / 1st April so you don't have long at the higher rates.
Does it go off switch date? So sign up about 10 days before to pick either of those two dates.
