*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Is this a specific switch 2 upgrade, that you have to pay for? Will have to try that as on the original switch it did have a fair few fps dips especially in handheld.
Nope. It is not specific, and I didn’t do anything extra other than download, load up and enjoy !

Edit - same wit Toad treasure tracker. Not sure what it was before, but it runs better and looks cleaner

Tried Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 edition last night. Bit of a pain to install; had to find the Switch cartridge which installs 2.2GB, then do that silly Virtual Game Cards authentication for the DLC (install went to 11.ish GB) and then go to the eShop for the upgrade pack which shows as both free and £7.99 to buy (although as a NSO subscriber I could obviously download it for free). I think this increased the install to 22GB, or just under. So not smooth if don't own the Switch 2 version.

However wow...what a difference. I'm wasn't intending to play many Switch 1 games on the Switch 2, but this is a game changer for that game. Reminds me of the PS5 and Series X 30-60 fps upgrades for Assassin's Creed Origins & Odyssey (albeit those games already ran at higher resolutions via the PS4 Pro & Xbox One X upgrades). I can see me giving BotW more playtime as a result.

Yeah. It really makes a difference. The only downside is that I'm running out of internal storage faster than I thought I would.

Yep.

After being a physical/card-only on the original Switch (minus a few eShop only games) I was planning to go all digital on the Switch 2. But like you this is going to mean storage running out sooner than expected. I should be good for a while but at some point I'm going to have to buy one of these new mSD express cards.

Same lol, some of the switch 2 games are huge, I've seen games with 70gb file sizes. I've got the 256gn card but internal storage only has 30Gb left and 100gb left on the card

I'm gonna have to get a 1TB card when they are for sale

My Pro Controller 2 has just arrived. I can see why everyone is getting excited by the feeling of the sticks... they feel amazing!!
Weird that it comes with a USB C to USB A charging cable. I haven't had anything come with USB A for a couple of years now. I have plenty USB C to USB C cables kicking about that I can use though.

I guess my next Switch 2 purchase will be Donkey Kong Bananza. I'd prefer a physical copy, as there are 2 Switch 2's in the house and it'll be easier to share.
Anyone got any tips, discount codes etc on pre-ordering a physical one? I don't suppose there's any rush as it's not out for another 5 weeks.

Wish I had anticipated the pro controller demand and pre ordered one. Stock is non existent.
I ordered one on Friday, and it arrived today. Should have been yesterday, but there was no one home to receive it. I could have also paid extra for a Saturday delivery. Just checked their site... It did say 6 coming in stock tomorrow when I looked yesterday, but looks like they've all been sold. Can't link them as although they OC don't sell Switch stuff, they're a competitor for PC equipment. Begins with an E!
