The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

You need a nuclear reactor to run that game, same as Oblivion remastered, (unless you're into the new trend of FAKE resolution and FAKE frames - which I HATE BOTH)

Both those games are an utter disgrace with how they perform VS how they look visually. It astounds me how they can make a game look 10% better than another game, yet required 6x the power to drive, very very odd, I smell Jenson under the table of both the Oblivion Remastered and Doom: Dark Ages titles.

I for one will be sticking with Eternal! And the fine selection of other games which perform ON PAR with their visual fidelity.
what are you banging on about?! i replied to someone who asked about a 5950x and 9070xt playing well together - i just posted a vid i came across with that hardware config

When you have the Horizon games or any of the Sony games tbf, it is shocking how they can look visually stunning and not need anywhere near as much grunt. Shows it can be done.

I wonder if
Any reason not to buy the £629.99 ?

PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Hellhound 16GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Nah, seems like a good price!

I have heard about coil whine being prevalent with a few of the hellhound 9070 XT's but I don't have any experience with one myself so somebody who has one would be able to speak on that matter better than I.

So far the latest drivers seem better to me. I didn't have any stability problems with the original versions but the next lot of whql drivers often resulted in a black screen on waking from sleep and adrenaline crashing with 'driver timeout' messages. Hope this iteration is back to the original stability.

Anyone see performance difference between 9070 vs 9070XT when using a 5600x CPU.

I know this is more dependant on resolution where the gap would increase more as the demand on the GPU was increased. Just deciding if it's worth the extra £££. I know the Hellhound is £629.99 currently but was ideally wanting to have a little bling for my glass side panel :D

Pretty sure none of the 9000 series do.

It's usually the reference cards that have them and they never made any (well, not officially) for this generation.

IM half thinking of upgrading from my 4070 to 9070xt, would it be w worthy upgrade for 1440P gaming paired with 7800X3D which i reckon ill be keeping for many years.
Dont get me wrong my current spec is doing great but im always looking to the future.

The 9070XT is faster, has more memory (which I've noticed games are now around 13GB) but uses more power and hotter, plus it's physically bigger

About 25% faster. Depends on how much you can sell the 4070, and if you get a 9070XT for a good price. You could also compare against the non XT, so if it's like for like price swap, even if it's the same performance, that 4GB extra VRAM will help long term.

yup even the 9070 non XT is fair bit faster, checkout God of War.

Worse case it's 10fps faster, which isn't a lot but if it doesn't cost you anything, and 4GB..

It all depends on what £££ you can get for your 4070. Looks like they go £350-400. That means another £230-£250 to upgrade to get by the looks of it and average of 30% more.

I'm still sitting on a 9700xt Nitro. Long story, but I'd ordered it on launch from a competitor, competitor had a shipment stolen (the one with my 9070xt). So, the order was delayed a week. In the meantime, I was miraculously able to get a 5090. I used the 9070xt for all of five days before the 5090 arrived.

The Nitro was the best AIB card I've used in a while due to it's classy looks and the innovative hidden power port. Better, it ran cool and overclocks like a champ. Such a good card.

I can't help but think now when I play a game that I paid £1300+ extra for very little noticeable difference. So the 9070xt sits here unused in its box.
