I got three of these cheap ones from Screwfix last year. £17 each, quiet, push plenty of air, at least enough to make a decent difference and still going strong. Family is happy with them.
We have a generic fan that is loud and doesn't push air that well, a Dyson AM03 which has better air concentration but is even louder and was expensive, and then the godsend Meaco Sefte pedestal fan in the bedroom. It was also pricey, but is pushes serious air and is very quiet, the up down left right oscillation is also pretty sweet. So impressed by the Meaco I picked up a smaller previous gen version refurbed for the office.
We have the Meaco 1056 air circulator. The oscillation (up/down and left/right) is good and it shifts a similar amount of air. These are probably as good as it gets without going for aircon.
