The Diddler

Why was he not found guilty on all counts?

Wow.
presumably because of the texts and what not where some the gangbangs etc happened sounded consensual and in some cases even encouraged, at least enough to have reasonable doubt.

The man sounds like an utter waste of flesh and rotten to the core but at the same time Stockholm Syndrome i imagine is a hard thing to prove 100%.... and if people stayed with him because he gave lots of nice things and offered a lavish lifestyle, well that does then weaken their case about being forced - esp when some of the victims were hardly down and out with no where to go.

I am not defending him at all, and i do not know the ins and outs of the case, only the headline stuff but given the burden of proof is on innocent unless proven guilty then i can imagine it being tough to prove.... presumably that is how the jury felt anyway. end of the day 85% sure he is guilty isnt (or shouldnt be) enough. i do hope the judge goes hard on him tho for what he was found guilty of. the ball is in their court now and there is scope still for a lengthy sentence. IF they give concurrent sentence of say 5 years potential for parole in 3, that is on the judge not the jury.

That woman who said he hung her out of a balcony window, didnt she later admit she embellished as well on some details when cornered? that would significantly cast shade on anything she said as well (if caught out lying about 1 thing then what about the other things that are not proven but just reliant on their word)

The reality is i believe he is likely guilty on more than what he was found guilty on, but the law has to be more than what people believe.

Lisa Rubin on MSNBC (their legal expert) said the texts showed the women were willing participants and in the videos they appereared to be having a good time

Looks like the prosecution are now looking for a 4-5 year sentence. His victims understandably don't want him released on bail.

It's very easy to get caught up in the emotion of the case and forget to judge things by the letter of the law, which is what matters at the end of the day.

In hindsight, the text messages from Cassie about the freak offs, basically killed off all possibility of the sex trafficking charge coming back as guilty (for her anyway).

It also doesn't help that the information we get on the outside is filtered by the bias lens (well Rotton Mango was very bias I don't know about other sources) of the people reporting on it.

he could still get 6-10years or more if the judge is harsh

Judges for this district only give out reccomended sentences 34% of the time, vast majority of sentences are light

So while yes the judge could hand out a 10 or even 20 years, it will probably be far lighter
