New gaming PC but classic wow crashing every time

Back on trying to find a solution for this, just installed selecting driver only and no change at all

I think next step is to post on the wow and AMD forums?
Can you describe the exact moment(s) that the crash occurs?

E.g. is this still ONLY when loading into character select?

In other words? You have never loaded into the game itself?

It would help a lot to be really specific, so that you can search for the right threads.

There are certainly a lot of threads complaining about AMD issues, certain drivers, etc, but finding fixes in those is like needle in a haystack scenario.

Think I'm close to giving up and kindly asking OcUk for a replacement Nvidia card.

Neither of the other two 'fixes' worked either btw

hmmmm - maybe I'll just let it sit for a couple hours?

Did you try this?
If you have AMD cards currently the recent wow update broke the dx12 comp with AMD cards, this IS on blizzard side of things and not AMD the tempoary fix is to do the following that was written on US forums/Reddit.

Open the launcher > WoW > Options > Game Settings > tick Additional Command Line Arguments > add in -d3d11 > Done

Would love to give it a go but I can't even access the game settings as I can't get past the first screen

So far as I'm aware (from reading the posts), you do that within the battle.net launcher, not in the game.

If you don't use the launcher, you can probably edit the shortcut to add the argument, may need additional research.

So I've got to the login screen and now it's saying I don't have active game time on my account even though I do lol.

This should be easy to fix....

Gonna try a good old fashioned restart

Could it be related to the region settings? E.g. trying to log into US when you're UK/EU?

I can also see some comments about a drop down having the wrong account type selected, but vague about what / where this is located.

Jesus christ, game has been running absolutely fine, I decided to login to retail wow to see how it looks with new PC. CRASHED.

Thought nothing of it, went to log back into classic and it's crashing again.

Uninstalled, reinstalled and did this, Open the launcher > WoW > Options > Game Settings > tick Additional Command Line Arguments > add in -d3d11 > Done

Still not working, oh man, why oh why did I launch retail.

Yep, back to square 1 and crashing again, for some reason the desktop shortcut also doesn't have the wow logo.

So over this now, going to call OCUK tomorrow and ask if they will exchange for an Nvidia card.

How odd that the below fixed the problem before but now it's not

Open the launcher > WoW > Options > Game Settings > tick Additional Command Line Arguments > add in -d3d11 > Done

AMD and wow just do not go, it's like blizzard has an unwritten agreement with Nvidia to intentionally make it as such a ballache to support AMD

Could someone please recommend the best Nvidia card which I will order via Ocuk? I can order it, then when it arrives, send this one back to OcUk for a refund if they agree to it.

If you end up with the Trio, it isn't a big deal, the cooler on them is quite good (going by TPU's review), but I do understand the point that £100 is too much.
