Not the news from the Brentford side. Sounds to us like United just don't want to pay the fee that we've quoted them, and are messing around trying to come up with alternatives.

Preseason started today. If we don't see Mbuemo over the next couple of days then I reckon it's close.
 
Disappointed with Uniteds lack of movement so far, thought we would have moved quickly to give Amorim as much time as possible to teach his philosophy. I understand not wanting to pay over the odds as in previous window, and it seems Mbuemo isn’t putting any pressure on the Brentford board.
It’s also possible united are waiting for movement in moving unwanted players on.
 
Going faster in transfer is not really easy. There are three parties in most transfers (two in the case of release clauses or free transfers) And any of them can slow things down. If we want to stop paying over the odds then unfortunately things will take longer.

I heard that the deal was basically agreed as our second offer was what they asked for and then they moved the goalposts and added another £5m.
 
Craig reporting it was the same offer Forest had for Elgana last week. Deal was held up due to him switching Agents.

He started 2 league games last season and made 16 mostly uneventful appearances from the bench. Scored once in an FA cup game. Odds are stacked high against Burnley staying up, a non playing non scoring high earner won’t be much help.
