Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

The theory is that once the bitcoins availible on the market run out the value will go through the roof. Especially with countries now starting to collect them.

I know someone who made well over a million with a combination of bitcoins and Microstrategy (and then retired before 40). But it's probably to late now. These companies buying up loads of BC could also dump loads of BC. When individuals were buying them it wasn't really possible to crash the market.

it only takes one to rug pull, then others start to panic and the house of cards come down.

I wouldn't touch crypto, personally.

Sure you might get lucky, but you might also get lucky playing blackjack or roulette - it's not the kind of thing you want to be risking your retirement fund on.

If you have huge and stable portfolio already, then fine, have a flutter with 5% of your pot, otherwise it's just pure insanity.

Yea, I'm temped to buy back in to Nvidia. But I feel like a big sell-off is coming any time now.

EDIT: And down it goes.

You don’t really need to get lucky with bitcoin, it’s very obvious the price will just keep going up and up (with major volatility). I’m approaching 1 million USD in Bitcoin, held since 2021.

Why do you say that? Just look at a chart, it’s the same with sp500 and Nasdaq except Bitcoin goes up faster. Bitcoin just hit a new all time high.
Because S&p500 is highly diversify and a far lower risk. If you have built up $1M, then putting it into an S&P500 ETF should average a 10% return long term. Your investment would still balloon, and your risks are far lower,

That's no fun tho, just yolo it all in to BTC, what could go wrong?

Fascinating to watch the FTSE over the past few days. It’s very close to breaking through 9000 and my pensions have recovered all the loss of earlier in the year and then some. I can remember a couple of years ago speculating on it breaking 8000 and I have a feeling 9000 will be before the end of the year.

I also fear the big drop is coming.

I sold some just before April (about 1/3 of a lot of stocks I was heavy in - NWG etc). However, things went back up! (missed a chance to get a nice 30% - I dont have the kahunas). Anyhow, still thinking the actual drop is coming

Happy with my dip buys so far this year, although I'm still 60% cash at the moment. I don't think we've seen the last of the market manipulation from Trump.

CMPS and AMD are my highlights, will be hanging onto them.

Now my finances are a bit more stable I’m just waiting for the next big Trump downturn to move back into more equities.

Stocks have dropped today so i will likely throw an extra couple of k in today, but will wait to see if the NYSE opening will create another pull back

The 'drop'

Trump seems to be spewing more rubbish about tariffs and the problem is nobody believes him now, the date is always sometime in the future. TACO is real.

FTSE all world has been doing ok for me. Slow and steady :D

I'm watching ASST again. I made a bit of profit on it during the recent pump and it seems to be hovering around 7 for now. If it dips to 6 I might get in again.
