Plenty of room for edginess with that side of things, but it’s rarely explored in TV / film.

Inevitably every superman either chooses to lose their powers or become a dictator, I don't see how any rational thinking all-powerful being that's meant to uphold the values of superman doesn't realise their mere existence is a problem.

I know this was in jest, but I do genuinely think people ruin things from themselves by adopting a ‘critical perspective’ rather than allow the film to sell itself to you, emotionally or otherwise.

It’s a bit like watching a comedian and scrutinising how funny or offensive they are mid-act… or watching out for how a magician is doing his tricks. Sort of misses the point.

Of course, if the ‘act’ has failed to engage with you, or its alienated you, then it’s up to you how much you want to engage with it.

Just out of th cinema and felt the same. The movie is pretty unique and it's no Synder MoS but it carves it's own identity brilliantly. Definitely a James Gunn movie. Easily 8.5/10 for me.

If it turns out that you two secretly have a pact to deceive us all into watching it, so we have to infact share your secret disappointment because you hated it and wont ever get that time back, I shall seek compensation!

Not sure I’m going to see it - I’m just a bit fatigued from all the franchise stuff!

Not even tempted by the big dinos of Jurassic Park X: The Return of the Revenge Strikes Back. I never thought I’d grow bored of dinos… it’s like my inner child has died :(

Going to see it again on Monday. Maybe try 4DX next time.
