Online coffee beans retailer

The "Espresso blend" description I feel is for people just getting into coffee, and not realising that any beans ground to the right size can be put through an espresso machine and there is no such a thing as Espresso taste. What they are thinking is people expect espresso to taste dark and strong so it's typically a dark roast, which can be anything from anywhere. And if I were a coffee roaster, it's where I would put my worst* quality beans because with darker roasts you have more room to "hide".

* Worst doesn't mean bad, it could be a Ferrari California in the line up of Ferrari but it is still a Ferrari.

While I was out last weekend in East London for a MLB Event I discovered this small Coffee Roaster, I can't think of a more inappropriate name. Few minutes walk from Hackney Wick Overground. Small operation, but who says small is Bad?

There are a couple of other Roasters A short walk away, The Roasting Shed & Saint Espresso, Ive tried all three and they are all good.

Forced marketing at its worst..

Why can't people just let their coffee/passion through, all the marketing gimmicks like the name and 'female led' is literally meaningless pandering which ultimately puts you off a little.. Even their bio makes them looking like they are just searching around for the next business opportunity and throwing ideas out there to see what might stick..

I prefer the real organic roasteries that just had a good product first and the reputation/marketing comes after that..

Maybe that's just me..

Support coffee people who are passionate about their coffee, I give 2 hoots who roasts it, nevermind what dress they are wearing at the time, or not. I have roasted my own beans in my PJ, but I don't go around advertising it.

I actually avoid brands that uses names like that. There is a fashion brand call Nonsense, no, just no.

Nice! I tried to order more 2 weeks ago but their website was giving loads of problems so I ordered from Wogan.

Hormozi’s website really is a pile of poop.

Ok I tried the Mexican one, it's quite mild I think? My first cup with my usual load was quite milky, so I nearly doubled it next time, even then.

Quite nutty/smokey I think?

It's good, I reckon £22 p/kg Vs whatever the usual one is if probably pass on it next time but it's not bad.

I might make a stronger one later though and see.

apart from sluggish website , I wouldn't want an option of roast colour , I want it roasted optimally for espresso -
roast colour suggest they could be sorting (really?) or just decide arbitrarily about categorisation of individual batches.

I won't be paying a third more for a fancy tin from ride&grind which doesn't look very reusable - for spices or refilling with beans, and looks undersized to spoon/tip out for accurate doses.

I love the roast option.

I definitely got a nutty vibe from it (fairly sure I said to my wife that it tasted like peanut butter) but I wouldn’t have said it was mild.

If Hormozi’s website had worked the last time I tried, I’d have ordered more.

Yea I agree with you their website is ****.

Their service, coffee and prices are excellent though, you think they'd sort it out.

Thanks! Saved me from buying a couple of overpriced fancy tins with a little bit of coffee in them! Almost pulled the trigger this morning.

We've just ordered from Rave. Mocha Java blend for the milky drinks. Monsoon Malabar, Brazil Guima Estate and Tanzania Mbili Twiga for espresso/pour over.

which did/do you go for - I wouldn't want it incinerated, but it's not a steak nonetheless.

I think you are saying you did dislike their tins ...
on the back of those I had wondered about these, this company https://www.amazon.de/Nostalgic-31111-Drivers-Only-Aroma/dp/B074QR9DHG#averageCustomerReviewsAnchor
a few art-deco/kitch tins could be nice to go with Illy cups

What's the problem? it pour out easy enough? or did you expect the entire tin to come out like a bucket?

I don't think many of us pour random amounts like that into the machine but rather into something on a scale to measure. And if you are pouring it into the machine....it looks like it comes out easy enough?
