**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

On the factory 19" wheels my TTRS has 245/35 tyres, yet they were £40 a corner more expensive than putting 255/35's on there, which I did. Just had a look now on Black Circles and the 245's are still £25 more expensive per tyre, and still cheaper than PS4s

have they gone up in price? last i looked they were the same price as the asymmetric 6, and cheaper than the PS5, not to mention the PS4S!

Must be an Australia thing then, it's $330 each tyre for PS5 here and $570 each tyre for the contact 7 when I checked a few local tyre shops

I did find a good deal on Pirelli P Zero, can get them for $200 each tyre

Need new tyres for the Golf GTI, what's the best entry level all season sport tyres these days? Are Michelin Pilot sports still the go to?

Had Hankook on my mk7 GTI for years and they are decent tbh for fair price £150 or there abouts.

My rears are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics 5 and they been decent lasted me for quite abit of time now.

But none of the above are all season tyres im abit confused as your not mentioning all season tyres in your posts this is all season tyres.

The Pirelli P-Zero PZ5 comes out first in this test followed by the Continental Sports contact 7 for the best performance summer tyre.

I love the Goodyear AS6 on my Golf, suites its perfectly, but you can't go wrong with the Continental SC7 or PS4s/5 either imo.

Please don't get the P Zero, hateful tyre.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet but there's currently cash back running on Goodyear tyres till 31st Aug.

Think I'm going to pick up some F1 Asymmetric 6's for the M140i. Comes in at ~£330 for all 4 which is pretty decent!

I'm currently having 4x Continental AllSeasonContact 2's fitted and having run Michelin CrossClimate tyres since the originals came out, I'm interested to see how these are going to perform.

The only difference is I always had the CC's on my Seat Leon in 17" whereas I've now got a Mazda 3 with 18".

I certainly wasn't keen on the price of an 18" tyre that's for sure!

I need some new tyres for my 2010 Ford Focus 1.6 petrol (205/50/R17) I don't do that many miles and not after anything particularly sporty. I am thinking of either the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 (£100 each) or Kumho Ecsta Sport PS72 (£80 each) - both these are Wet Grip A rated & B for fuel. Which would you guys recommend?
Thanks

Just ordered Michelin Cross Climate 3 Sport for our Mini JCW Clubman All4. Will report back how they get on. We've got Cross Climate 2 on our Mk5 Golf GTI and very happy with them.

Car needs a new set of boots soon (probably SC7s).

Can anyone recommend a good fitter in the general West Mids area? i.e. one who won't damage rims and can balance properly?

Booked in to have some Conti AllSeason Contact 2s fitted this afternoon to my ID3. Wanted to go back to a set of Cross climate 2s like on my previous car but at another £200+ for the set the Contis won :o

Thinking of trying them next as the tread pattern is a bit more suited to around where I live as it doesn't pickup small stones the way the style of the CC2s, etc. do, but been a bit put off by the dry braking performance vs the competition and summer tyres - that said the Bridgestone all season I have on the Qashqai are rated in benchmarks below the mid-tier summer tyres I've previously had on the Qashqai but in actual use they stop either just as quickly or better. My brother has the Contis on his Mazda and said he doesn't really notice a difference to the Goodyear summer tyres he had on before in the dry.
