I didn’t really like Season 1 - that kid who went to the upside down was really annoying & I kind of forced myself to watch Season 2 a couple of years later.

Improved drastically with the arrival of Max and her dysfunctional family.

Can’t remember what season she showed up in though.

I thought season 1 was a banger and then it declined until 4. I think Max was introduced in the latter part of season 1.
 
I was late to watching this show but ended up watching all 4 seasons back to back, at least 3 episodes a night, back in that extreme heat summer we had 4 years ago or thereabouts. So I'll see your "Game of Thrones" and raise you a "Lost" in terms of hoping and praying they land the final season, cos I really do love this show.

But lost did land the final season perfectly

They failed by being rushed in the last few seasons so had to abandon some stories that they had been building up
 
I watched all 4 in one sitting after they had previously aired. I thought the show gradually got worse each season so hopefully S5 picks up.
 
I've only ever watched each season a single time when they first aired, be interesting to see how much I remember as there's probably going to be a few references to things in earlier seasons.

Season 1 was ok but mostly because of the 80s nostalgia/vibes, once I got over that I started to lose interest towards the end.

Couldn’t finish season 2 it was so bad, I had to tap out when they met that punk gang or whatever they were. Truly unbearable TV

It's the one thing that makes me think the writers had no clue what the story was going to be for each following season, because clearly that punk group story was abandoned and has never been seen again. it was awful.
