Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Was nice of Newcastle to put together a list of targets this summer to make everyone else overpay for.
Yup funny enough I got the Mr Bean meme in my head this morning. Very fitting

It’s not a bad transfer strategy tbh as we haven’t had many wrong hah

I listened to the interview and he said nothing of the sort, enjoy your Poundland Alex though, that we made you overpay for.
You don’t believe that. And while I was obviously joking last night, it’s clear that Isak wants/wanted the move and Howe definitely didn’t rule it out.

Now to be clear, that’s not to say it’s likely to happen but until Ekitike is announced as a Liverpool player, I wouldn’t rule anything out. Richard Hughes and Michael Edward’s are reportedly very close to Howe and I don’t think they went into this unless they believed there was some possibility. One of the articles last night seemed to suggest that Newcastle would sell if their valuation (£150m) was met. Maybe we just won’t go that high.

that’s like old news. Ever single Newcastle reporter said it would take a bid of 150m to open negotiations. He probably has a book value of around 30m atm

Howe is one of the most honest managers going if he said Isak is happy and pretty confident he be playing for Newcastle next season then that’s good enough for me.

Also how much is Liverpool requesting for Andy Carrol 2.0? Asking for a mate.

If the Ekitiké goes ahead, as recent reports suggest it will be interesting to see what we might recoup on Nunez who still seems destined to leave the club, with the potential for Diaz to leave for a decent fee. But these are things for the money men to work out and Edwards/Hughes have proven themselves to be very capable in this area with John Henry being a very shrewd businessman, you certainly can't argue that he's transformed the club's financial situation immeasurably from the Gilette/Hicks era. That has put us in a strong position to spend big in the transfer market where it's needed.

I'm certainly looking forward to next season and seeing how we perform across all competitions, with current transfers we've arguably strengthened an already strong team and set new foundations for the coming seasons. And I think we will still see a few more additions to bolster the squad further, hopefully with a couple of young academy players being given their chance. When the dust settles it will be down to Slot to get them to gel as team and dominate as we have done, the early transfers and pre-season will help with that. I just hope Slot learns from last season and rotates a bit more than he has done and we don't suffer the fatigue we did at the end of last season.

L'equipe saying Madrid have asked how much for konate, 20-25 should do it if true. Go get Guehi and Hato

Liverpool journos starting to come out and say price not actually agreed yet, the likes of romano etc all jumping the gun as usual.

What’s Slots track record in bringing the youth through? I’m wondering if they feel a couple of lads like Doak, Elliot and ngouma (sp) will fill them gaps left by Diaz and Nunez.

Romano reports that Mbeumo is now a United player, medical and contract completed. He also says we’re showing an interest in Senne Lammens, goalkeeper for Royal Antwerp.

Barcelona have sealed all the documents of Rashford deal, set to land in Spain.
Understand Barça will pay €14m gross as salary coverage plus bonuses linked to appearances.
Marcus takes 15% pay cut and Man Utd will not cover his salary.
€30m buy option for June 2026.

The Rashford deal looks pretty good for Rashford and not excellent for United. Glad he's gone and with no salary contribution which is the important one, but it doesn't look like there's a loan fee and the buy option for next year seems to be "only" £26m.

Not sure what I expected but I'd have imagined a slightly higher buy option fee, it's not like his stock can drop much lower than where it is right now and it's a year in La Liga and the UCL - you have to imagine he's going to raise his image at least a bit (especially in a world cup year).

There is no elegant solution to the Rashford situation, we are going to take a battering whatever happens.

This at least just removes him as a problem for the foreseeable and we'll see how things go this season.

What a disappointment he is.

I think it's good enough to get rid of some one who doesn't want to be there and isn't wanted at United.

He'll be 28 this year, 29 next year so £26 million for someone who's score only 15 goals in the last 2 years...

He needed gone - best deal on the table.

He was a good player for United but always seem to have a chip on his shoulder about something.... Workrate was always his downfall for me

You're not wrong (either post). I kind of just expect him to wake up with this kind of move and actually have a decent year, so it might look incredibly cheap come June. Good for United to move on from it/him finally though. What a disappointment indeed.

I agree, he isn't a player who'se price tag is base on his potential anymore, he is at his prime right now and his record in the last 2 seasons doesn't justify his current wage, especially to just sit on the bench, if he even get on the bench these days.

He should do well at Barcelona, I don't think anyone can argue their squad is much better than United's and La Liga isn't as tough as the Premier League. Yet if he doesn't perform...
