Anyone started getting issues with the At A Glance? I noticed it stopped showing the weather. Tried clearing storage and caches of Pixel Launcher and Weather app but to no avail.

I found that manually adding the weather widget somehow forces the at a glance to show the weather. Anything else to try and fix this properly?

yes the weather seems to dissapear randomly for me too. very annoying. sometimes its there sometimes it aint!

So my Pixel 9 Pro XL updated to the latest build (Andriod 16) the other day.

So far:

- Apps randomly crashing
- Adaptive brightness not actually adapting and leaving the screen on minimum brightness
- Failing to wake up
- Screen becoming unresponsive in random areas, especially the around the fingerprint scanner
- General slowness of operation

If I restart the phone it'll go back to normal operation but later the issues reoccur.

The update itself took a lot longer than previous large updates. Could I just have had a bad update?

Anyone else with similar issues?

I feel like I heard others having some issues. Something in a podcast or a website about a long Reddit thread with people with these problems.

I've just found the Reddit thread.

It seems there's a 'fix' that's been worked out. Gonna try it on mine and see if it works.

If anyone else comes across the issue:
Go to display settings, lock screen, disable tap to wake and lift to check. Restart the device and then re-enable them.

Buggy here too.
I've noticed most of the things you mention.
The double tap to wake the screen stops working randomly for me and the whole phone froze yesterday and just showed a black screen.
Hoping the next update has some fixes.

Not really hot on the phone/SIM market so........

Two years ago I got the S23 Ultra via Vodaphone for £50 per month. Contact almost up.

I'm looking at SIM only deals and realising instead of spending £10-15 on a decent data heavy SIM only I can spend £15 on a Pixel 9a contract. Get a data heavy SIM and also a new side-phone. I can keep the S23 Ultra (no need to upgrade) and use the pixel 9a for a second phone/work phone. I can put the SIM in the S23 Ultra and just use that. Only down side is it's ID network.

My thinking sound?

£50 / month contract sounds very expensive.

I came to the conclusion 2 years ago that SIM only is pointless because it's much more cost effective to get the handset bundled with the network provision. SIM Only can make sense if you keep the handset for a few years.

Yeah it was for the flagship Samsung just after release. I'm going to keep using the S23 Ultra but I need a SIM that isn't £50.

So...instead of £10 for a SIM I pay £15pm and get a Pixel 9a as a backup. Not bad for £120 (plus £50 up front but I get a Currys £50 voucher in return)

So i think I got this fixed by allowing location all the time in weather app, maps, Google app. Then clearing cached on all 3 apps and pixel launcher. Force stopping pixel launcher then restarting the phone.

Its been 2 days now and the At A glance weather have continuously worked so far.

Weird question here, my other half has a 9a, and it's started to do something weird.

If it's charging and you hold it or touch the sides it vibrates gently. If you unplug it, it doesn't do it.

What the hell is that about? It never used to do it and I'm worried it's going to die or something.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Not quite the same, but when I was in Spain recently I checked the native weather app as a thunderstorm was forecast - and the phone vibrated in my hand as the little thunder cloud graphic shot out its lightning bolt.

I was impressed. :)
