Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9a/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

Weird question here, my other half has a 9a, and it's started to do something weird.

If it's charging and you hold it or touch the sides it vibrates gently. If you unplug it, it doesn't do it.

What the hell is that about? It never used to do it and I'm worried it's going to die or something.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?
Is it actually vibrating or are you getting a very mild shock?

Not quite the same, but when I was in Spain recently I checked the native weather app as a thunderstorm was forecast - and the phone vibrated in my hand as the little thunder cloud graphic shot out its lightning bolt.

I was impressed. :)

Yes, the pixel weather app has haptics (which you can turn off in the settings), a nice touch.

I wondered that too but no, it is definitely vibrating.

Yeah it happens with many electronics. Something to do with a poor grounding or something. I'll have to look it up. Happens on laptops for example.

Thank you. I wondered if it might be something along those lines. As long as it's not going to die anytime soon I don't mind!

Sussed it! Didn't occur at the time but we've been staying in a caravan all week (kids holiday, don't judge! :p) and got home yesterday and it no longer does it.

Yes, same charger/cable that we always use, just must be something funny with the power in the caravan we stayed in.

Never had that before and my 8Pro wasn't doing it. Odd.

Probably no or poor earth connection in the caravan

Does it happen with different chargers and/or cables? Is there a case on the phone?

Edit: whoops, already answered, didn't realise I was looking at slightly older posts.

Well, I've managed to drop my 9 Pro XL which cracked the edge of the screen between the protector and case - no preffered care (tried to buy it after purchasing the phone but missed out by a day).

Anyone had any good/ bad experiences with repairs? I wasn't planning to trade this in for the 10 but would like to get it sorted.

Been using the 9a for a month now, really enjoying it but I came form a Samsung S10+! I have an S23 Ultra also, this is just my work phone but amazing how much smoother it is

Got an email that the year free Gemini Pro plan that came with the phone is now ending. Nice to see they sent a reminder, completely forgot it's been a year. And after a year of using the phone... I downgraded to the standard non-AI 100GB plan. Don't think I found any of the Pro AI features handy at all.
