not as lot of people know that

My favourite not a lot of people know that thing is how it's illegal to get drunk in a pub or for the landlord to serve you when you're inebriated.

Weird how in Australia this is a massive thing.

To work in a bar you have to do a Responsible Service of Alcohol test, and if your smashed they will actually refuse to serve you!

Stranraer's latitude is 54° 54' 8.42" N

Hull's latitude is 53° 44' 40.56" N

=> Stranraer is further north than Hull.

1 degree of latitude = 60 nautical miles. So Stranraer is ~69 nautical miles/~80 statute miles further north than Hull.

Having just been through this over the past few months things will get better. It's a real big metaphorical slap across the face to be made redundant. You know it's not personal, but it still feels it. Great picking up a job so quickly.

my position(low level) in the company put my as a point of contact for the other staff, so i had to be a strong face.
obviously I'm now ok but yer i 100% did take it a personally thing.

Edit: also think you to the 2 PM's i got asking if i was ok.

ChatGPT gets things wrong! Never use it to check facts after a few drinks. I knew I should’ve said Middlesbrough instead of Hull…

The 2D world map we're accustomed to severely distorts land mass size. Africa is much bigger than you think, and the giants of the northern hemisphere like Canada, Greenland, and Russia are smaller than expected.

I only found this out about a week ago so I assume 'not as lot of people know that'

In a similar vein from the same channel - the longest possible straight line you can sail on the planet is 32,000 km:

the average air molecule is moving at about 1000 mph.
When you open a door into space they aren't being sucked out, they are simply moving as fast as they always do.

Not relative to the ground their not, circumference of the earth is spprox 25000 miles which performs one revolution in 24 hours hence rotating speed of 1000mph at the equator. The atmosphere clings on so rotates at a similar speed more or less local atmospheric conditions, wind etc. Obviously in the UK it is less than that.

i dont know what you are talking about - i'm talking about the average velocity of a single air molecule. That has nothing to do with the equator or the earth rotating - its the molecules kinetic energy, due to temperature.
