It's too hot :(

Besides the sky getting a quite grey, the temperature has dropped a few degrees, but a band of rain is expected any time heading north east that will probably last until dinner time... Wasn't forecast earlier!

It’s still 30°C outside right now. Low will be 21-22°C at 07:00 tomorrow building up another lovely 40°C later on.

Need some rain and cooler days before my A/C goes on strike.

Humid all day and mostly cloudy too. In the evening the cloud became thicker, then at around 7pm, the drizzle started, then the heavy showers. It's dry again now, but the humidity just isn't nice. :(

Raining quite heavy now. Not enough for the pots and plants, but the lawn will be happy.

Going to enjoy the last of this warm beautiful weather  before depression and cold and misery kicks back in again :( seriously may as well live in Gotham city during the bad times with UK in the winter, months of pitch black awaits………………..so enjoy the wonderful light now while you can folks!

Felt like months not seeing the sun last winter. We were going to book some meals this weekend, but I’d rather just sit out on a bench and grab food somewhere. The nights already feeling shorter!

Strange first day of heatwave, a warm but bearable (while doing nothing more energetic than making a brew or washing up) 29C turned into a grey late afternoon that's given light rain on and off since.

Still 21C out there now, but feels fine.

Tuesday could be fun though, forecast to be 25C by 1000 and a similar max of 28C... But no forecast of cloud/rain.

Hurry up autumn! Nature's natural aircon system. 4th heatwave this summer! Weather's going mad.

Already 28°C here at 09:31, but cloudy with just hint of a rain smell in the air.

Thunderstorm tomorrow, hopefully with just a little rain or it’ll just run off the iron hard ground.

23°C here and it's not even 9am! Luckily there's a nice breeze blowing, hopefully keeps up for the rest of the day - and at least the evenings / nights seem to be cool (15/16) which always makes it a little more tolerable at night!

Those heavy thermal winter curtains kept the heat out almost as well as they keep the heat in.

We have a set in the archway leading to our hall way and upper level and that keeps the kitchen 2-3°C cooler on its own. Luckily, all the doors and windows that would get direct sunlight have shutters and awnings to prevent this.

The other thing the French got right when they started building stone house is having a big loft space to act as a thermal barrier and somewhere to dry grain and cure meats etc.

Starting to think Stoke is the cloudiest place in England. Barely seen any sunshine since the second week of July. Even this heatwave was supposed to be sunny and yet it's mostly cloudy at best and now raining. It's so dark that people have their lights on.

Even as a massive pessimist of British summers, I didn't quite expect it to 180 this year and get this ******* bad!

*Grabs sad lamp that's been in use for most of the last few weeks and mopes*

I see the UKHSA (United Kingdom Health Security Agency) has heat alerts out... By god the Welsh and Scottish borders are impressive in their ability to keep all that heat held back within England... Must be asbestos lined borders

LINKY to explain

Apparently if you cross the border into Wales or Scotland, the heat instantly disappears and it feels like winter :p

I got the rubbish and unmaintained shared A/C replaced as my corner room testing lab was 30°C on the first summer day I was in there and the test equipment manufacturer didn’t guarantee measurement accuracy to what was needed above 25°C.

Facilities didn’t like it, but Engineering always got what we wanted, especially when we were paying.
