BOE has been found guilty of stealing Samsung's panel technology and as a result will be banned from the USA market for basically 15 years

Will this have any impact elsewhere? BOE makes millions of panels for mobile phones, gaming monitors and other devices

This is expected to have significant impact on certain brands, as some tech brands exclusively use BOE screens

But everything from china is stolen ip. It's their whole business model. If ip mattered we wouldn't allow any imports at all.

I suspect it depends a lot on how flagrant it is.

If a hacker gets hold of a bunch of R&D from a western company, and then it's used by a Chinese firm to develop their own competitive products, there's not much to base an investigation on.

If a Chinese firm contacts a Western firm's suppliers asking for info about the products, goes after its staff to bring them in, all of that is quite easy to firm up as evidence and for an investigation to patch together.

We need to stop having this high end tech being made in China.

It's short term greed, it'll be the end of us in the long run.

Even the plastic tat is bad enough.
