Superman: Legacy

What excuses, its total BO is at least $430 million so far. Its done reasonably well.
I guess with inflation, and higher cost to produce the movie, that number under performs what it needed to achieve.

What I find interesting is that when they say how well a movie has done its always total takings, but inflation means each year that usually goes up, it they never talk about tickets sold. Like it's far more interesting and surely useful to hear 1 million tickets sold, over 430 million taken

Might wanna tell the Gunn that with him going on about anti American sentiment affecting performance.
He obviously knows something we don't. Perhaps he's seen how poorly it's doing internationally and they have done focus groups and this has come up as the reason why many aren't even trying the movie.

I'm sure he has more information than we do.

But on top. "going on about". How did he go on about? Is this a repeated thing he's said, a random comment made within a list of reasons. Just commentebting back to someone else suggesting it?

Isn't it?

You have to assume they mean the character in the title role only and the domestic gross.

Batman Vs Superman wouldn't count because he shares billing with Batman.
What?

So they are comparing worldowde box office against a domestic box office.. as I said lazy

Literally tomorrow, absolutely ridiculous (It's still showing in my local multiplexes!). I sound old but I remember when summer releases couldn't be watched at home till like October time (iirc!)

Many films now have a 45 day post theatre release date for digital. Minecraft was the same as were many films in recent years. They can also remain in theatres too.

Minecraft and Superman are both WB. Maybe it's them only doing the 45 days so they can make some quick VOD/Rent money before they put it on HBO MAX? It's not every film, but I can't be bothered to check!

A billion dollars!!!!!!

Didn't even do more than MoS as predicted, surely its time to knock these things on the head for the best part of a decade and just make good tv shows instead.

It was successful enough that WB announced that James Gunn is now writing the next story in the super-family.

For most films now its up to 90 days but many recently have been less than 60. For example The Wild Robot got its digital release 19 days after it's theatrical debut. 45 seems to be about average recently.
