BRSK

Its a good service, but recently in Manchester I have been having more and more down time, or blips in service and when I work from home most of the time it can be really annoying....

Hmm that is curious. My first 2 years was rock solid throughout, last 6 months hasn’t been so good for sure.

I wasn’t attributing it to the service just yet as I upgraded to 2gig and at the same time changed some other things to support it.

Whenever it blips though the solution is turn off/on the ONT so am inclined to think it could well be service related…

So nearly been with BRSk now for two years and received an email from them the other day saying it's time to renew etc. What's everyone's experience with renewing and trying to get a better deal etc? Currently paying £22.50 for 900mb up and down. Their website says it's £35 for the same speeds.
Can you play the Virgin Media game, call their bluff and get a better deal etc?

Yer I have had to restart the ONT a few times, I use a Unifi Router which has been rock solid, it also lets me know about outages and its pretty eye opening with the drops I can see :)

My BRSK broadband was down for 24 hours yesterday and the start of this morning, wow that was the longest day I have had for a while.
The internet is a window into the world for me and I have become so much to depend on it.

It was even the start of the Premier league, so missed all of that.

Fortunately it is back on now, so back to my routine I go.

Signed up with them on Monday for 1Gb/1Gb and a static IP, the came round Tuesday to install as they had a cancellation slot. ONT and router installed, fibre to the pole working fine but an issue beyond that. Came back yesterday morning and fixed it so now live. Unplugged the BRSK router, set my pfsense WAN to DHCP from PPPOE and was online in less than 10 minutes (BRSK WAN DHCP time). Speeds good and latency 12ms for me in Preston (BT FTTP was between 8-10ms depending on what mood it was in). Tested the upload speed increase via the various IPSEC VPN tunnels I have running and major tweaking is needed. Already have a maintenance email for the 27/08/25 3AM-5AM, can't grumble too much as at least they tell me.

Anyone do One Touch Switch to BRSK?

brsk website states you'll get an info email from your current provider when you give them the account details. But Aquiss are saying the service only sends that email once they get a date from the new provider.

And you can't proceed on the brsk website unless you enter a contract end date and tick this box.

Call them, I recently took advantage of the in contract buyout and they were very helpful. Got the credit and OTS done.
