You know what it's like.
You see a game that you're interested in and add it to your wishlist and it says COMIJNG soon on Steam.
Yoiu wait months and it still says COMING SOON. When a date is finally announced, it's usually months away or next year.
Some games ge cancelled with hout any warning, especially after you've wishlisted it.

To avoid disappointment, it should be made law that new games get announced at least three weeks before they're ready to be launched with screenshots at least two weeks before the launch date.

Don't tell me you two haven't got a game on wishlist that's got COMING SOON a year after it was announced? If a ga,me's going to be delayed they could at least have the decerncy to announcer and appologise for the delay. The new Samurai Pizza Cats game was announced last year and I'm still waiting and it was the same with Space Marine 2. I had that on wishlist and it was delayed.

Dunno, haven't checked my list in a while.

Add them, forget about them until they're available.

There's often delays of one sort or another so I don't think about it. Got plenty to play and things to do in the meantime.

Do you mean games that you've only wishlisted? So you havent spent any money on yet?

If thats what you mean then I dont see the harm in the games taking a long time or being cancelled. It happens.

If you mean games that you have paid money to, then thats a different thing as you are out of pocket so a refund ought to happen imo

At most I might experience mild disappointment. Frankly I'd rather a game be delayed than it be launched in a poor state.

It's a fun pastime/hobby, not life or death. Frothing at the mouth and demanding weirdly excessive laws over game announcements is a sign you need to touch grass.

If you're talking about bait and switch/false advertising, then sure that's bad practice and has resulted in games being pulled from Steam in the past.

I think I’ve had Viking City Builder on my wish list since it was announced in like 2020?

Sadly just checked their instagram and nothing since 2023 so probably abandoned now :(

that's exactly my point
But I mean, you just move on and carry on playing other games dont you? Its a shame when a game , or book, or tv show that you were looking forward to gets cancelled but you just carry on. Its not a devastating thing when a game/book/movie/tv show is chopped, its just one of those things in life.
