YouFibre

When you upgrade package how long should it take to come into effect? (150->1000)
I was told a few hours, but left it overnight and it's still 150 (speedtest on eero).
Is there something I need to do?

Edit: I was asking here because the support chat was closed. It's meant to be 24/7 so it seemed broken, but at 8am it opened and I got them to fix the speed.

Have you tried restarting your ONT?

Also what's does it say on my.youfibre.com as your active package?

I have recently ordered Youfibre Broadband. Anything i need to know?
What router do they supply, and is it any good?

Anything else?

they recently changed the router offering, I joined a few months back and got an Eero 6+ (which is trash btw), but it's something else now.

they just launched an account management website, seems ok but it's new.

their support (a chat) is shocking, they are very slow to join the chat and waste your time with nonsense answers, so hope you don't have issues.

otherwise, when it works it's good value.

YouFibre installed today. Provided the new wifi 7 router, It's a Sagemcom hub.

Any reccomendations in terms of going into settings and changing anything?

Morning all!

I’ve had youfibre for 6 months 1g/1g and it’s been pretty stable, we are moving to a different town and I really want to keep the FTTP but what’s the best way to check the location and what services we can get?

I checked YF and it doesn’t look like they have rolled out there but one page mentioned 1.6g for speeds?

Contact them directly. I'm fairly sure if you move house and they can't provide in new location they will end your contract FOC.

Makes sense that only the YouFibre speedtest endpoint is capable of testing it

To be fair, YouFibre/Netomnia/BRSK have the largest capacity core besides BT/VM02/Sky and are spending money in all the right places.
I can't imagine their customers would have any issues to other well-configured speedtest servers with similar latency.

Still, anything above a few Gbit to the home is purely marketing and investor satisfaction imo.

It's a halo product that like you say gets free marketing as well as making people pay a premium for something that won't cost a lot more to provide than a more standard service.

The Times are reporting that Netomnia are going to start offering their subsidiaries through Openreach to reduce churn. I’m curious as to what their pricing will be like? Also, their MVNO is still due to launch by the end of the year on Vodafone Three’s network. Tempted to switch to that as well…

After widespread faults (multiple areas) at the end of last week, I noticed the top half of my /29 was down. The first 4 of 8 IPs wasn't receiving traffic, and outbound packets were being effectively blackholed by YouFibre. It seems they've restored a config or brought online a new router, but fat fingered my config as a /30 instead of a /29.That or they've messed up a static route somewhere. I put in a ticket on Friday night but I'm still waiting, so I guess the Netomnia netops guys don't work weekends. IPv6 still works, so my servers are online at least.

Today, my line dropped around 5am and BQM shows a lot of instability for the whole preceding 24 hours. I guess they've still been having issues. It cleared up about an hour ago thankfully, and touch wood is back on an even keel. Faulty port or a bad splice somewhere, maybe. They've been absolutely trouble free until now, and at least it was resolved quickly. I didn't even need to report it. Hopefully tomorrow brings proper resolution to the subnet issue.

Edit: I emailed the netops guy who set up my config, and he replied within 10 minutes saying he'd fixed it. Someone mistyped a config when replacing a router, apparently everything's still done manually at the exchange level. All's well that ends well. :)
