Superman: Legacy

Just watched it, sadly, compared to Man of Steel this feels like a Temu rip off.

Love it how the message says they're weak-minded, then all of a sudden everyone changes. It's as bad as that TV series Under the Dome, where people just point the finger every 5 mins, switching who the bad guy is/ISPOILER]

See you are just repeating the same buzzwords as the snyderbots on social media platforms.

It's closer to the golden and silver age of the comics than the dystopia 'real' Superman portrayed in MoS, BvS and JL. Even though that character is as far removed from everything Superman stands for and is loved for.

Comic book movies are finally going back to the fun bright comic vibes.

Was a good portrayal overall, although there was some dumb bits that just felt off. Mr Terrific was great and Nicholas Hoult was a good Lex, didn't think it was going to work but it definitely did. Hawk girl was just weird.

She was the most pointless character in the film. Just screams and barely any dialogue.

Just a pretty face, on the movie so superman doesn't need to "actively" kill someone..
Didn't like how..well...scrawny superman was, would have looked better if he had a bit more muscle on him, costume was fine.
Hate the whole kryptonite makes him fall to the floor unable to move crap aswell. Although writers do it differently every time, it's just lazy. Would have worked just the same if it made him weak/loose strength but not incapacitate him on the floor.

The parents was silly also, I get it for the movie plot, but don't mess with the lore (not aware of that being a thing in any comic versions). Also a certain character is still around? not a fan of that although it is in some of the comics. It's a piviotal point in Clarks story in my opinion.

Scrawny? David got totally jacked for the role and I think put on about 30lbs, I've seen a few clips of him working out. I think the thicker suit material covered it up a bit.

If I remeber correctly the Smallville series did do his Kryptonian parents like this at some point.

I've seen kryptonite done in so many ways, with varying degrees of incapacitation, I guess it just is what ever best suits their narrative for the story. A bit weaker and then as exposure grows he weaker weaker, instant collapse and can't function or radio type effects with skin discolouration and vein like infection growth

Hidden under the suit for the most part it doesn't seem like he has lots of muscle in the suit, yeah hes jacked and tall but the suit is hiding the buffness. He doesn't have a big wide frame though stereotypical to superman with wide shoulders big biceps, pumped chest etc he looks like a regular guy who was thin and put on a bit of muscle. I've seen pictures of him shirtless, yes he's jacked more than most people but it doesn't work in the suit.
Might have been better with a less thick costume to show of the muscle and chest specially the front, there is no definition cannot see the muscle.

Smallville did the whole sent to conquer thing yeah but that's not really a superman story it's a Clark Kent story before the superman identity. Was mostly for the sake of plot as they rode on the whole idea of him being sent to conquer and rule earth for many seasons, lots of drama

Kryptonite, fine with exposure makes him weaker over time but total incapacitation is lazy writing to me it's just a plot magufin although I suppose how else would they make superman beatable

Krypoto and lex got a chuckle though

Superman having visible big muscles and being well defined has never bothered me personally, he doesnt need to work out or anything. His powers come from the yellow Sun so whether he looks like a bodybuilder or just a regular guy shouldnt really affect his strength.

Found this a mixed bag. Points though out I wanted to really get into it but there was no payoffs. Some likeable characters in it like Mr Terrific.

Think this was more miss than a hit for me.

I thought it was excellent. Probably enjoyed it more than the other recent Superman films. Really was expecting the worst after some of the comments here. Jeez Louise! I enjoyed it enough to give it a 7.5/10. Would watch again.

I think the problem there is that he's traditionally seen as an icon of all that is good and right (more so as a citizen of the USA) that people should strive to be, you wouldn't strive to be mediocre.

Would you think the same if they introduced a fat superman?

What's worse is the actor legitimately did work out and beef up for the role and the suit did nothing for him, maybe that was intentional and they plan to "upgrade it" in the next movie but given he was effectively a side character in his own first flick I'm not holding my breath. This isn't a farmboy origins story where he's building into being Superman, he's already at least partially established but it feels like he's not at the same time. I actually feel Superman is a bit too much Clark Kent in this, it's a similar issue I've had with the recent Spiderman movies.

He was still the main focus of the film and not a side character at all.

Watch this last night. As soon as the film started and the first few notes of the original Superman theme kicked in, I got goose bumps which then almost instantly disappeared in the very opening scenes. Complete and utter gash.

What’s with the current crop of action films where the dialogue is absolute dog turd, sprinkled with teenage cringe, and then handed out to adults to regurgitate?
