Given that the 4090 was thirsty enough, that currently a 5090 can draw upto 600W from a single 12VHPWR, then it's on the limit already, so the 6XXX series will probably draw even more, given the rate things are going, so would have 2 12VHPWR's. So this is a sign of what Nvidia's solution will be, a doubled up set of 2 12VHPWR at one end and 6 8PINS at the other.But nobody's talking about cards that need more than 600W, at least not for home use? Besides, plenty of existing 8-pin adapters for 12VHPWR come with more 8-pins than they need. My 4090 came with 4, of which you only needed to connect 3.
Which obviously isn't a good idea, given the fact that single 12VHPWR's are now starting to catch fire more and more.
