Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

He’ll go for sure. It’s wether it’s 2025 or 2026.

I’d always expected he’d be off next year, when it got to the 2 year remaining mark.
Yea, he has no long term future. Unlike some of your fans, the club will be pragmatic though and will be working to find a way to replace him now because this dragging on doesn't benefit you. The only way the move doesn't happen is if you can't find a replacement and as I said when the stuff about him never playing for the club came out, I suspect this statement is a result of the club indicating to him that they've not been able to find suitable replacements. He's trying to ramp the pressure up hoping that you'll either sell without a replacement or lower your standards in terms of who you replace him with.

That’s basically what Craig Hope said last week.

I agree- he’s keeping pressure up to make sure the club keep to their end of the bargain (find a replacement).

If he’s still here Sept 2nd I’m sure he’ll play again. But he’ll be off either January or June 26

Yea, once the window closes there will be talks and an agreement will be reached where he comes back, with assurances that he can leave in January or next summer. Whether he performs like he can or just goes through the motions is the gamble for Newcastle though.

If we don’t get anyone in I’d say we can’t afford not to take the risk - unless osula funds his inner Messi overnight

Yea, both from a football and PR point of view letting him go without a replacement would be suicide. Next week will probably be quite manic with rumours and bids. I'm not sure if I'm happy or not to be in a completely different timezone when it's kicking off.

From your position it’s less stressful going into the season to be fair. So I’d say it’s probably going to be nice being away from it

At this point, the whys and whens of it all are largely irrelevant, nobody wins by forcing him to stay now, nobody comes out on top. Newcastle could shove him in the reserves, Isak could just refuse to play or even if he did play the fans wont give him a minutes peace on the pitch about it, there comes a point when stubbornness benefits nobody. Invite another Liverpool (or someone else if needs be) bid, take a big chunk of money, use that money wisely and move on. Anything other than that is just a loss for all concerned parties.

Newcastle won’t make a statement, I suspect Howe will comment on next press conference but be more of same.

We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening.
We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.

We want to keep our best players, but we also understand players have their own wishes and we listen to their views. As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired.

We do not foresee those conditions being met.

This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.
Enjoy gardening it seems

Club statement:

The publication of a statement by Alexander Isak on Tuesday prompted the following response from NUFC:

"We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening. We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.

liverpool fans think isak can trigger article 17 already, but he cant till next year, chatgpt claims PIF would drown the FA and liverpool with legal cases and isak would be blocked from playing. liverpool could get a transfer ban if it was deemed they tapped him up and it kinda looks that way.
If isak/liverpool win it would mean the big teams could get any English teams player they want for basically 1/4 of their transfer value.

loads of clubs would likely make statements favouring newcastle, seema villa already basically did.

Isak hasnt even officially requested a transfer yet... hes an idiot and his agent is way out of his depth.

surely thats the first thing he should have done, and then refused to play.

And before someone says but Wissa.
Wissa is already 28, what are the odds in the next couple of years another champions league team is going to be so desperate for a striker that they would sign him? it's likely the only chance he will ever get.
also didn't his team say he could leave for 30m, or 40m to a saudi team? nufc met that and the team raised the price? LFC never made a serious bid, liverpool lowballed

Isak is 25, will be wanted by every top team for the rest of his career which is likely quite long, probably 5-7years +

it's a bit more understandable for wissa to be angry and refuse to play, I don't agree with it or really want to sign him anyway, forced signings are bad signings and likely a waste of money, he'd probably retire at the club too, so sucks for PSR

I said a few pages back, awaiting the transfer request. Wanted to go so bad.... Why wait until.... What the last week ? Last day? To submit one. Like could have done it in January.

Of course would lose the loyalty bonus payment if he does that. Guess some things are just about money.

I'm not sure that matters all that much tbh. I think the only thing for certain we can take out of it is that NUFC are more than willing to sell if Liverpool stump up what they deem is the right amount of money. It looks pretty clear now that unless they do then Isak is going nowhere.
I'm relatively ok with it all. I just wish Newcastle had done this in June.

Isak situation seems simple really.

We really tried to get an adequate replacement in, but unfortunately, we couldn't manage to do that (however embarrassingly it seemed at times). That's unlucky for Isak because ultimately he has 3 years left, so the power is in the clubs hands. We were obviously trying to replace Isak to give him his "wishes" and "boy hood dream" of playing for Liverpool.

Liverpool haven't suggested they are willing to break the bank to force us to sell.

So Isak however whingy he and his rat agent appear to be.... ultimately has no choice in this. He won't submit a transfer request because him and his lizard agent will likely lose some financial aspect.

Why all other clubs fans whinge not sure, it's a simple situation and Newcastle fans do have a right to be a bit miffed because of the way he has gone about it all, totally not needed tbh. No doubt its clearly bad advice to him though.

I’ve said it before i don’t feel Isak is worth 150M. I don’t want us to offer that I’d rather especially at this point moved on to some one else

I don’t value him any higher than what we paid for Wirtz.

It’s hard to understand any player worth that much.

Personally, I’d not say Isak is worth that only because he is injury prone. He is class and has done wonders for us but we haven’t had a full season where he has been above and beyond everyone else.

He is definitely one of the best forwards around but is he world beating above and beyond elite level?

The 150million mark for a player you probably want the full package, elite, young, commercially up there as a global brand as well. Wouldn’t say he is.

I’ve said it before as well I don’t think you will get the longevity out of him either
