Neither party are looking good in this really.

If Isak was indeed promised something, it's not a good look for potential players wanting to join Newcastle as a stepping stone, young talent will go elsewhere.

Isak is just looking like a bit of a prat, but can understand the frustrations if there was an agreement.

Exactly, so a maximum of 4 weeks, certainly not just fining him week after week as you claim.

he should agree to play, then just jog around the halfway line and not bother chasing anything, be subbed in the 1st 10 minutes. he'll be sold straight after :cry:

That would be a massive breach of contract and allow us to sue and withhold his registration

to play to the best of his skill and ability at all times;

Don't get this ever growing gentleman agreements nonsense. If players are so worried about such agreements they should get it written into their contracts.

The sheer number of players that clubs could sue on that clause is enormous. In almost every match ever there is a player who isnt playing to the best of their skill and ability. Dele Alli, Balotelli, Pogba and Marcus Rashford have made entire careers out of it :D

There was an NUFC "fanalyst" on SSN earlier saying he and others thought that Isak deliberately played badly for the last 3 months of the season in order that NUFC didn't qualify for the CL and that would make his exit easier.

I don't think that's true, but if people think that then why do they want to keep him?
