LG G5

So you've not got a device pushing DTS into your G5? eg: A DVD/Bluray player?

Generally good to take TV picture mode from dynamic/vivid.

If he's got DTS sources then best to go source---->AVR---->TV. And only using E-ARC for the built in apps, then you will lose DTS but at least if BD is primary source you'll get all audio.

That's the problem with soundbars, not having HDMI in & out (say if they had built in HDMI switch) means you're stuck with ARC/E-ARC and then held hostage to audio codec support from TV. If brands drop DTS then you'll lose all DTS, from DVD all the way upto to DTS Master & DTS X.

65" G5 is down to £2899 now, getting tempting, also seen the new Philips 65" 910 which also uses the same panel at £2200.
£2899 is still twice what a G4 goes for these days. I'd pay the extra if I was getting a load more in return but I can't see enough value in the G5.

Also bear in mind there's some crazy deals out there. I just bought a 65" M4 for £1175.

Deals yes - A well know retailer is doing the 55" stand version with a free "£699" LG soundbar and £250 off, so making it £1949.
As my near 8 year old B7 has a few little bugs: - Freeview tuner randomly disappearing for months and the returning for a while before disappearing again. Plus the cabinet has been vibrating with the speakers for a while so I bought a basic Bose soundbar to fix that last year.
I had been eying a G5 up for a while, but the £250 off, free delivery, 6 year warranty and paypals pay in 3 interest free finally tipped my hand !

Just taken the plunge on a 77" G5 - love it.

Well known retailer had a great deal with the 'free' £999 soundbar, £500 cashback from LG and I bought some other bits from them so got an extra £150 off. 12 months interest free payments too.

6 year guarantee already paying off as the panel was damaged (dark pixel area / line in a corner), new panel and installers coming back on Friday.

there are £30,000 TV`s

even back 40 years ago there were $10,000 Sony TV`s
Yeah but TVs have high end versions that are the latest tech. Surely if you're spending upwards of a few hundred you just sack off soundbars and buy a good receiver and some speakers.

It's like a £50 McDonald's. You can use fancier beef and artisanal brioche buns if you like but when I get over £40 you can guarantee I'm going to a nice restaurant.

I noticed my 65" CX had 100's of Fracked pixels and sub pixels along the top and bottom edge at the weekend, Called JL they gave me a good fair voucher,....... Ordered a 65" G5 just now to replace it, should be a big upgrade and 40th birthday treat to myself
Do they look like these ive found on my C9

Panny Z95B just to make things easier to decide.
In a previous life i owned a panasonic platinum repair centre so Panasonic was always my go to. However my 1st plasma had really bad banding that even after a repair and upgrade never really went away. So 2nd plasma was a Pioneer Kuro, And even though they shared R&D was light years ahead. Never went back to Panasonic after that.

I can only says my Panny GZ950 has been excellent and is coming up to 6 years of usage, apart from some dead pixels around the edges.

The Sony is an excellent close second choice and the LG third.
