This looks so nice

Thirty years ago, we started designing our very first graphics card, leading to the launch of the ASUS 375 in 1996. The decades that followed were a whirlwind of innovation. Contenders rose and fell. Powered by wave after wave of new tiers of hardware, PC gaming took off and ascended to the mainstream. At every step of the journey, ASUS and ROG graphics cards pushed the boundaries with new concepts and technologies that empowered each generation to surpass the limitations of the cards that came before. Today, we’re ready to introduce an all-new graphics card that honors this legacy while carving out new territory of its own: the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX™ 5090 – ASUS Graphics Cards 30th Anniversary Edition.

As a celebration of 30 years of ASUS graphics card innovation, the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 builds on the technologies that made previous ASUS cards standout options for PC hardware enthusiasts, all while moving the series forward. Walk with us through the last three decades to learn about the tech that the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 uses as a springboard into the future.

That looks very cheap and plasticy, no thanks!

Give us another badass card like this 4090!

I'd personally prefer an air-cooled card, as I have a 4090 Matrix next to me, and the pump buzz is annoying.
Fair enough, I couldn't put up with that.
But you get my point, that looks premium, the one posted by OP, looks plastic and cheap, and we both know that it isn't :P

Oh yeah, I get the comment on the aesthetics.

I personally think it should have been a balls-to-the-wall W/C personally.

Definitely mate, after what it has to follow with that 4090 card, and the fact this is an anniversary special, it's pretty poor compared to that 4090!

Weird, I've had many air cooled and water cooled GPUs (both custom and AIO) and I've always found the fan noise on air cooled cards to be much louder than water pump noises

I can assure you the Matrix has a buzzing sound with the AIO pump as it’s always on. I had to RMA my first one as I thought something was wrong but the second one is a little quieter but still makes a buzz.

I do have the PC right next me to, as the rest of it is silent due to WC. That probably doesn’t help things.

That's a real shame, I'm not really an AIO guy, but when that came out, I thought it was the best looking off the shelf GPU I'd seen, and the build quality appeared to match.
It's a shame bad quality control has to ruin it!
Oh well, at least I didn't miss out I guess

At idle most of the 5090's are 0DB (fans turned off). The AIO cards have a constant pump hum even when the card is at idle. The only exception is reportedly the MSI Suprim, which has a pump turn off feature at idle, at least Techpowerup's review sample did.

Pig Ugly

I was thinking about getting one but the colour and shape are terrible.

These sort of cards usually turn up when there is only a few months left for the current top tier SKUs.

Start saving your money for the 5090ti or what ever Nvidia are going to call it.

Anyone mention the Asus Tax, with this card you are going to be paying Super Tax.

Why don't you buy the RTX 6000 Pro, the 5090 is a peasant GPU for you right

I only bought the 5090 to complete a PC build.

I also think that new 5xxx cards are only a few months away and Nvidia will replace the 5090 with something faster than the RTX 6000.

I do have another PC build to do but it can wait.

Nvidia have not produced a good card since the 1xxx series so I won't rush to buy any unless it is really needed like for a new build.

There was a time when Intel looked untouchable in the CPU market but look at them now. Nvidia's turn is coming and when it does it is going to be a huge fall.

Speculation on my part but for that to happen they will have to release the full fat GB202 and I cannot see them selling that for cheaper than the RTX6000 which is in itself not running the full chip and it still costs £8000, For the full GB202 they will want to be charging well over £8000.

If they release anything faster then it will be for the prosumer market, Maybe an RTX6000 Ultra or something with the fully enabled GB202 but for us common folk the 5090 will be the fastest until the 6090 in Q1 2027.

There is nothing to stop them releasing a card with the same chip as the RTX 6000 but a bit more overclocked and optimised.

5090s are not flying off the shelves so Nvidia will do something to boost sales and use up their GB202 chips.
