Seeing quite a few mentions of this generation of 'Super' cards coming out in the later part of 2025, most likely around the holiday season.
Rumoured specs:

I also saw in another video that the prices will apparently be the following:

I've not seen anything about UK pricing, so I don't know if it will be any different.

What do you think?

Hopefully the 5080 Super has a performance bump compared to the 5080, if so I will probably get one.

The 5080 Super is the same core specs as a 5080 but it will simply be overclocked and with the power slightly bumped. And the extra 8GB Vram it always should have had.

Anyone who's had a 5080 (me included) already knows they overclock like a lunatic so the working theory is they purposefully gimped the original, knowing they could / would release the Super version down the line with zero effort, zero cost, slight performance bump.

Not saying the 5080 Super will be a bad card, quite the opposite. It's the card the OG 5080 should have been though. Which is annoying and why I now have a 5090. Twisted logic, give even more money to Nvidia I know. Extreme man maths justification required.

I expect it'll be very small, just like the 4080 Super was (and that didn't even have more VRAM :o ).
The 6000 series will be the ones to watch for. No doubt they'll find a way to screw up most of the midrange cards and below though.

The next series should come less than one year after these Supers. Isn't there a big (ish) node shrink coming for the 6000 series? At least that was rumoured before AFAIK.

If I can get a 5080 Super at a price I'm happy with then I think I'll go for that. The 24gb should help in video editing?

Depends what you're doing, but it can't hurt.

Yes, I believe so, was supposed to be one of the reasons that Blackwell was underwhelming, but even if nvidia do make perf/watt gains, I doubt they'll put those gains into bumping consumer value higher than the new norm.

Think Nvidia have reached an evolutionary dead end with the current cuda design the IPC gain generation to generation was practically nothing on the last new chips, probably don't want to break the current ecosystem they have.

2027 Q1-Q2 is the current expected time frame for the 6000 series according to all the "leakers" plus it stays in line with Nvidia's 2 year release schedule, And the Supers are expected around October this year.

You know what you're spot on there. I sold my 5080 and bought a 5090. The only way I could feel better was to give even more money to Nvidia. These are strange days we are living in, on many levels.
Jenson's phoned and said he really Apprciated it! he said when the 60 series comes out you'll get £10 off your next value card.
