96 cores at 5.4Ghz boost is just crazy. Considering they support the full 128 lanes when not in a TR50 board, I can see these being attractive over an Epyc if you need straight performance.
 
New world record, predictably....

Scored 228,816 in CB R23 at between 5.75Ghz and 5.95Ghz on all 96 cores.

Previous world record was held by the 7995WX at 210,000, which is also a 96 core CPU.

Stock they score around 175,000 at 5Ghz all core.

Has anyone had any issues of these CPUS with AVX-512 instructions? Whenever i run any tests with AVX-512 instructions it causes hardware failure or software crashing. I have tried this in Aida64 Stress Test (Fails Straight away with hardware error, turn off AVX-512 and it runs fine) Cinebench R24 (CB23 runs perfectly) and CPU-Z (AVX-512 test causes software to crash all other tests function correctly) This is on the Asus Pro WS TRX50-SAGE motherboard and Asus have replicated the issue and are working with AMD on the issue currently.
 
Currently finding some workstation solutions for work and licking my lips at the latest TRs.

Edit - quote in, went with 2 x Threadripper PRO 9965WX workstations. Only 24 core SKUs, peasants!

Had the 9960x in and out of my basket about 5 times this week. Head says upgrade from 7960x isn't worth it. Heart is saying **** it.

Heart will probably win on pay day!

I wish they'd have done 3D V-Cache like the rumours were suggesting.
