Dear Users, @here
Regarding recent reports of potential speed reductions or recognition failures when installing SSDs in the M.2 slot of WTR MAX routers, we have held multiple internal meetings. Our R&D team has confirmed through testing that this issue stems from a component positioned too far on the motherboard, resulting in poor signal reception in some units already sold. The R&D team also indicated that the final solution for both issues is expected to be released in mid-November. I will notify everyone again as the date approaches.
We understand this timeline is too long for our long-term customers. Therefore, customers currently experiencing the above issues can use our temporarily updated BIOS version to resolve approximately 90% of the problems (please do not share this externally). After applying this BIOS update, the following situations may occur:
1: Both issues are resolved after the update
2: Throttling resolved, but some slots fail to recognize drives. Engineers recommend switching channels. If recognition issues persist, contact us to request an unmodified M.2 bracket.
3: If throttling continues after updating, contact me (
[email protected]) by mid-November with supporting screenshots. I will ship a functional, improved M.2 bracket.
4: If both issues remain unresolved after the update: - Contact us to request an M.2 bracket (unmodified version) as a temporary solution for hard drive recognition failure - For throttling issues, contact me at
[email protected] by mid-November with relevant screenshots as proof. I will send you a functional, improved M.2 bracket. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by recent events. AOOSTAR remains committed to delivering the highest quality customer service. Please feel free to share any additional concerns or improvement suggestions with me.
