Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

I didn't say that though, I said a left/centre forward. Realistically, I'd actually prefer a right/centre forward unless we're now of the view that Chiesa is good enough.

Signing an outright striker risks hampering Ekitike or alternatively, quite feasibly playing a formation which doesn't really involve wingers, which would hamper Ngumoha rather more.
The right sided forward is Olise next year.

Well I wasn't 100% sure on Isak deal being completed but I suppose there's still a chance it goes to ****.

I just hope we get Guehi in too before the end of the day, but that 7pm deadline will come too quick tbh. I think it'll be a pre-contract or cheaper price deal come January so Palace do get at least a little bit of money for him.

Sancho to Villa on loan is going ahead, thank god. What a horrible man he is.
If its going ahead then he's given his consent which must mean that either Villa are paying all of his wages or Villa are making a significant contribution and we're making up the rest? Latter most likely surely? Will there be obligation to buy or are Villa wise to his poisonous attitude and want an open ended loan with no obligation to buy. Perhaps Sancho thinks he'll do what Rashford did - go on loan to Villa, do well and get a move to a bigger club. When does Sancho's contract end? Summer of 2026? So if he did well at Villa and got a move, we'd not get a fee?

Supposedly 80% of his wages rising to 100% if certain conditions are met.

So… 80% then :D

His contract is up next summer but we can extend by 1 year if we want. If he has a stormer of a season we might do that if we think we can sell him. The risk is obviously that his wage demands could scupper any move and then we are in the same position as this summer with having to find a loan for him.

That seems to have been the issue. He wants to keep his salary and we want a fee. Clubs aren't going to risk that currently.

Biggest 'If' clause in footballing history that! :D No way will that happens. Still 20% of his wages we have to pay is better than 100%.

Probably better to cut him loose and save on the wages then. Unless he has an absolute stormer of a season at Villa but it's a big risk, he might have some attitude about who he wants to go to, assuming Villa don't want to sign him and we'll have another year of paying him for nothing.

Hojlund and Rashford could (and Rashford most likely will) be back next summer. Sancho is gone effectively unless we have a rush of blood to the head and decide to extend his contract by 1 year.

I'm still not sure Lammens will be a good signing. We need a keeper who is proven and confident. Martinez would be pretty high on that list. I have no idea what Villa were after for him though.

In Hojlund's case I think he needs a loan move. If he hits the ground running at Napoli he can come back and slot right into the team.

Happy that Sancho is gone too.

We might be a basket case of a club but no doubt we have done some very good business this window.

Yep, good progress I think, at least in terms of getting Hojlund out for some minutes in a different league, see if that helps. Garnacho gone for a decent fee. Rashford out and hopefully gone for ever along with Sancho. Just need to see how the new signings settle in and see what we do today in terms of GK/Lammens and any other departures/arrivals.

A young, inexperienced goalkeeper *is* going to make a costly mistake, and when it happens, the fans and media will destroy him. It’s just what happens at utd nowadays, players are hyped as some kind of saviour based on nothing more than potential and then written off as soon as they fail to live up to the unrealistic expectations.

Utd signs Keeper lammens for £18M.

We desperately needed a change in keeper, great to see the business done.

utd transfer business has been pretty good, I like the notion that outgoing players might go on the cheap but with decent carry-over fees if they move on.

This is my issue as well. Lammens does look like a great goalkeeper for his age, definite potential there, but he is going to need nerves of absolute steel to be a success in goal for us.

I think he'll go straight into the team and it'll be sink or swim. Onana and Bayindir are both completely pointless.
