Google Pixel 10 Series (10/10 Pro/10 Pro XL/10 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 4)

Still on a Pixel 7 Pro and was waiting for some great contract deals for this but nothing seems to jump out atm. S25 ultra is tempting but being replaced this year I think.

Shame really. Looks like I'll keep the S23 and see what the S26 brings to the table

My wife got a Pixel 10 Pro today and compared to the 7 Pro she was using yeah, the chassis is nicer but in terms of performance etc (especially after the latest Material 3 update) there's very little in it. I then compared it to an old Pixel 6 we have and felt the same.

Diminishing returns on phones these days.

Honestly thought the 10 was the one that would pull me back over to the Pixel line (Last one I had was the two)

Seems like it's not going to be!

Looking at the side by side videos last night, from a 7 it's a big jump to a 10 (non-pro). From an 8 it doesn't look worth it (upgrade to a 10 non-pro). For the jump to the 10 Pro from a 8 it purely comes down to feature set.

Just ordered a 10 Pro XL so will see what the screen is like and will compare to this older Xiaomi 12T I'm currently using but to be honest it doesn't matter to me that much. I'm more than sure it'll be a nice step up from this phone.

Fingers Crossed the replacement has no issues.

Keep us all informed.

This would be the first 10 I'd ordered so not a replacement but hopefully won't need to replace it! I've seen a lot of reviews lately that had issues initially but have had plenty of updates and those seem to be resolving a lot of those glitches and bugs - I wonder when they'll fix that GPU driver issue that was mentioned before as it sounded pretty major. Even so I don't game on my mobile phone so that's less of an issue but it would be good for them to fix regardless.

What confuses me though, is the reports of people having very good battery life.
if you look at the non WiFi tests (i.e on 4 or 5G) the battery against the 7 is , from memory almost a 40% jump in favour of the 10 non-pro. It's the YouTube WiFi tests which seems confusing.

Pros

  • Premium look and feel, recognizable design.
  • Brightest display in the industry.
  • Magnetic charging coupling and potential for accessorizing.
  • Android 16; latest AI features on mobile; 7 years of updates.
  • Dependable camera setup overall (if somehow thoroughly lackluster).
  • Ultrawide selfies.

Cons

  • Heavy for it size.
  • Disappointing battery life. (9.5h versus 13h hours for the much light S25)
  • Glacial charging speed.
  • Some AI features are region-limited to the US for now.
  • Poor raw performance, significant CPU throttling.
  • Limited closeup shooting capability.

The weight of the 10PXL is the biggest thing I notice, feels much heavier than the 8P, I'm still 50/50 about sending the 10 back...

Probably! I've currently got the nanopop by Spigen and it's a nice case but does make it feel a bit bulky. I've had 5 cases so far that have all gone back.
