It's a beauty :)

Now I need to decide on the small amp. Just something I can have tucked in next to the chair where I'll play.

Will look at a G5 down the line too, but for now I fancy a small amp to play with/without headphones that won't break the bank.

There's a few for sale near me, just want something basic/clean sounding

@kinger8938 how is it going?
Hey, thanks for checking in :)

Ive been running through the basics and following the Justin guitar program. Messing with chords and practicing changing etc . It's coming back to me!

Still need to get an amp this week before I can really get into it! But for now practising without one is fine to get my fingers working and used to it all again :D

The best guitar I have played in my 55 years of gigging is the 'new' Yamaha Pacifica Professional that costs around £2500.
Last year a salesman put one in my hands while I was trying out a POD Express and I fell in love.
From that day I've been working out how to get my hands on one.

Wow, waaaay out of my league but sounds incredible ;)

Just bopped down a deposit on a Tom Anderson custom order; an Angel Player in surf green… going for a ‘modern / retro’ vibe, something a bit like these Suhrs:

.... but with a reverse headstock, gold tuners and a gold Floyd rose :o :D

Oh... and in H-H configuration. Getting rid of that middle pick-up... they have coil split humbuckers anyway.

I also did some things to possibly help playability and decrease wrist pain, as I suffer from it very easily with feeble wrists:
- narrower neck (shorter nut)
- thinner neck (their thinnest one - 20mm at nut)
- short scale guitar (23”3/4)

Can’t wait!

I’ll post pics when it arrives... in ~10 years.

Learning Journey is going well so far, tackling the basics!

Got the A, D, E, Em and Am chords down and comfortably switching between them while trying to keep a steady beat going :)

Now practicing strum patterns and more rhythm based shenanigans.

Taking it slow but enjoying picking it up daily just to go over things etc

Can I ask what resources you've been using for practice. I came back to guitar a few months ago and been having a go at the Justin guitar site, just working my way through his modules.

Exactly that tbf!

I originally messed with guitar basics in my teens back in the 2000s, didn't get far.

Returned this past few weeks solely using Justin Guitar.

I like it so far, not too far into it just yet. Trying to take my time and get things down before moving on

Just to throw this in, my bands have used this software semi professionally for a very long time.
It's called Guitar Pro and you can get the files from Ultimate Guitar which I also have a lifetime membership for which cost me £15 quite a few years ago.
The good thing with this is it also does the keyboards.

On this song I'm mixing Guitar/Keyboards on stage while my guitarist plays the sax so I need to learn that little guitar lead and then back to keyboards.

Make sure the sound is on in IMGUR, bottom right

Cool, sounds like we're on a similar path, I'm close to the end of grade one in his site, luckily I remembered many of the chords so I skipped through some lessons.
It's been a great resource so far though, did you try the app at all?

@Mickcas @kinger8938 once you're happy memorising songs, I can really recommend adding some music theory. The GCSE music and BBC GCSE theory are good introductions. The theory will explain a lot of the why certain notes fit together etc. You'll also see how a Barred chord looks on staves and what the interval between the notes looks like and why (what all this dim and sus business is about).
