It's only because he allowed Piastri to pit first to cover Leclerc that they are doing it. If he had pitted first and they bungled it then i doubt they'd tell Piastri to let him past.

Because that's what the driving standards guidelines say - if the overtaking car has done enough to 'win' the corner, the responsibility is on the defending driver to make sure there's no collision
 
Don't see what the big deal is Norris was playing the team game 2nd so Piastri could cover the Ferrari

And Norris was faster throughout the race
 
So McLaren playing the team card.

So the team decided what order to pit
The team screwed the pooch.
The driver who got lucky must give up the advantage he got because of it?
Even though it makes no difference to the team result?
