Alien TV series (Alien Earth) : 2025

Decent so far. The aliens seem to look more realistic in the older movies  hmmm

The Xeno imo just looks too "clean" i suppose you could say. Also how its being used looks a bit odd, seeing a guy jump onto it and try to bite it is something we've not seen before and looks a bit weird. You could also say the movements don't look quite right when its standing upright, you're used to seeing an alien on all fours and only occasionally on its hind legs, and even then it was usually shot in a way that didn't make it obvious it was a guy in a suit. There's scenes in this, particularly this last episode with the fight with the engineer guy where the Xeno is upright and moving very human like.

From the reviews I've seen, it seems like the 'man in a suit' is intentional, to keep it as close to the original film as possible.

Same as with them all smoking, CRT monitors and other aspects of the future, as imagined in the 70s.

The alien suit is absolutely terrible, it kills the immersion for me.

That said, the last episode was one of the best for a TV series. The eye creature is great. It does beg the question though, how on earth did they catch these in the first place and how did it not go wrong before now, given how easily these creatures are killing everyone and how inept the crew are.

There’s a lot to be said for the olden days when you knew something looked a bit crap under any scrutiny, so you had to work harder with lighting and photography and editing to just capture enough of it to look convincing. Now we just think we can do everything with CGI and it ends up looking worse.

Or make it like the GOT finale. Incredibly battle scenes, number of people, set pieces, world class.

Maybe they didnt capture them, maybe it was the rest of the crew, the ones in cryo sleep, who captured them. Maybe they are like the "A" crew and the ones we see in the show awake are like the "B" crew, so maybe the A crew arent as crappy as these guys :)

True but they also shot the Alien differently to try and hide that man in a suit aspect of it, in this they're going for full shots where its standing up and the human movements are very obvious. In the other movies you mostly seen the alien on all fours and for in close shots where it was standing it would usually be a closeup, seeing the fight with engineer eyeball guy in episode 5 it just looked strange seeing it standing in that way.

Damned if you do damned if you don't though, if it was fully cg then that would also be a complaint I suppose.

Was better than than the previous episode. But the alien walking looked too human. How did it also get outrun by another human?

The lady studying the aliens was so incompetent. Can't remember if she locked the jar properly and then not securing it properly. Worse, takes food and drink there.

Then the 2 who wanted to treat the apprecice, no face masks or anything?

Surely the traitor could have stayed hidden instead of coming out for a shoot out?

The eyeball creature is very interesting, seemed like it was trying to warn that lady. Also it trying to square off against the Xeno.

Don't forget he took as swig just before operating on the bloke
I'd say eyeball was distracting her, not warning
Woman didn't lock down the cannister, eating, drinking, moving the drinks bottle from the lab to the eating area (duh) not securing the lid. Sheer incompetence (and tbh poor writing)

Once sandwhich had extra filling lock down the lab and stop with eating/drinking. She probably picked up the sandwich after

Would be a pretty boring story if the crew were competent though. :p

Indeed - it’s like trying to write Breaking Bad in the UK.

Man gets cancer - gets full and free treatment on the NHS.

“Alien species discovered - proper safety protocols enacted and everyone comes home safely. Zero xenomorphs.”
