*** The Official iPhone 17 thread (it has new camera bumps and everything!) ***

I wonder if the antenna is any better on the Pro versus the base model since it goes around the whole “plateau”.

Not sure if I’ve ever seen a YouTube channel talk about signal, but it’s something that annoys me a lot.

iFixit thought there might be issues with titanium and the signal for the 16pro, (I believe apple removed an antenna too) then remember Apple had to re-calibrate their 'bars', now they've switched back to aluminium...it stopped me buying the pro at the time

You have poor signal?

We were in the north of remote Iceland and was happily getting 3 bar 4g - was able to do a video call in the absolute wilderness - in the UK can’t get a signal in the shops to get my shopping list… modern world eh!

It might be something to do with standing in what is in effect a faraday cage and not the mobile network itself ;)

Big steal framed building with metal cladding and insulation tends to have an impact on signal penetration.

Standing outside with uninterrupted views and a low frequency (for mobile) signal can travel for 10’s of miles.

Can somebody explain apart from having to go to an Apple Store, why you wouldn’t always do the Upgrade Programme?

As far as I can tell you get all of the advantages of the financing but you also have the flexibility to just give the phone back after a year and get another one.

Case has arrived. Just need to order the phone now. :-)
