Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

The issue I have with gold and silver is that their mining is not great for the environment. From an investment point of view though, they have been doing very well lately, and they are the classic hedge against inflation, i.e. FIAT currencies losing value from over-printing.
Not just lately, Gold has done very well since 'Brown's bottom'. A solid 25 years of excellent returns.

Anyone else seen this?

I've not read the fine print but looks like it could be worth a punt.

Gave it a go. Quite impressed tbh, I have candle charts and all sorts of stuff now, just need one of those fancy Bloomberg terminals and a phone I can yell at.

I'm amazed that they're able to provide this amount of detail and info with no fees. One note, they only do whole shares, no fractional stuff, so if you're gonna blag the bonus, make sure you chuck a few extra quid in to cover the cost of whole shares and exceed the £50 threshold.

Look at me, I am the stock broker now.

Whole shares only. Rarely an issue for me. But it does cause hassle sometimes with some of the really large ones.

It might be a good idea to split my S&S isa. Not really sure how safe it is to have one big isa.

I don't think it really matters with stocks and shares... If the ISA provider goes bust you still own the shares as they are seperated client accounts not mixed with the providers finances... So they just get ported to a different platform /provider if yours goes bust.

That is what I heard too. I bet it would be a chore though!

There might be a wait, but you shouldn't lose out as the shares will still be going up/down in price as normal, you just won't be able to buy/sell/observe them during that time I guess.

EDIT if you have some ISA allowance left over and wanted to buy during that period, I guess you can just open a second S&S ISA with a different provider and buy inside that and then converge the accounts (or not) once it's all settled.

No UK stocks obviously? :D

Wonder what impact the budget will have. It's not going to be nice is it?

Not a lot I wouldn't have thought.. Part of the budget is to help uk business growth as well as people.. It's a balancing act.

And you are diversified and not all in on UK right? RIGHT??
