Building my own £1500-£2000 gaming rig

Can you tell me how too post links like how you have done the basket. So I can list all the parts I got and you can tell me where I have screwed up. Ta

If you show your basket at OCUK, down the bottom of that screen there's a "share cart as" and you can copy and paste the bbcode into your forum post.

Now you can tell me where I’ve went wrong. lol
You've spent more on the case+fans+AIO than I would have, but if you like the looks that's up to you.

The RAM is also on the pricey side for 32GB, so I'd have preferred my original choice, albeit they're black instead of the white theme you're going for.

Aesthetics over function are always going to hammer into your budget, especially when aiming higher end.

I'd rather have a black build with a 5090 than a white build with a 5080 personally, the amount you've spent on visuals would eat up some of the cost to boot. Everyone has different preferences, but if you've yet to receive the order and really want the 5090 you could cancel your current order, although if it's already shipped returns might be a pita.

The 5080 is in my mind the worst value card on the market right now, it should have been much closer to the 4090 performance wise and that's without having to fiddle around with OC's etc. Even if you want to stick to white overall, the 5090FE is pretty understated and might even act as a really nice centre piece to set off the build? It pretty much will be the only black thing right in the middle of the case so it could work.

I had to get the 5090FE, after getting the email and thought the price was excellent, so went ahead and cancelled the 5080.

I know I spent too much on aesthetics by going white, went for a white build for a change. Never had a white build.

I suspect with the FE 5090 dead middle will stand out and look cool as **** tbh.

Call it your black hole build. :p

You electronics racist :P

JK :D

Jokes aside, I totally agree though, especially if it's under a desk or next to a massive monitor, I couldn't care less. Nor do I want to be blinded by a disco to the right of my monitor  I don't mind RGB, but I'd end up turning it on only to show people before quickly turning it off.
And having a beast of a rig versus lesser spec, will always win ;)

Once you go black you never go back?

Joking aside, if you're going for an AMD based GPU build rather than ultra-high end white is pretty viable right now at little to no extra cost. There's plenty of well priced white 9070/9070XT/9060's etc, some are even among the cheapest of the cards on the market from the likes of XFX.

It's just Nvidia GPU's that seem to have the lunatic tax, it's barmy.

Case/motherboard/ram etc are all pretty much about on par with black variants as long as you're a little flexible with component choice.
