Starting a new thread for this....

Supposed to be a big announcement today and MRTV ("YES!" "WOW!" "YESS!!" WOOOW!!!!") hints they are releasing 2 versions. One with the specs we know already (4k+ per eye micro OLED), and a cheaper version that "competes with the BSB2" and will be cheaper. So I'm guessing it will be using the same lower res micro OLED panels as the BSB2? If these both have controllers, built in tracking and eye tracking, and a decent FOV they could be very interesting. I ordered a Super at the end of April so may be hovering to cancel....

have to say both versions looked pretty good. be interesting to see how much better the higher resolution version with Sony panels in is as its almost twice the price

I have a Super pre-order, I'm wondering what are the advantages of the Dream Air over the Super? It will be less PPD, be available later (knowing Pimax probably a lot later), have less FOV. Its advantages are Micro OLED and smaller/lighter. Correct?

I watched the official Pimax vid this morning and then a few minutes later a video from self-confessed "strange headshaped guy" VoodooDE dropped....

Looking at this there is absolutely no chance in hell that either of these Dream Airs will ship this year (Pimax is saying Q3 now).

I've never bought a Pimax headset before, but I'm starting to see now why people say they are so full of ****. So much so I'm considering cancelling my Crystal Super order now and just waiting 6 months to see what's what.

They've said June shipping for Super orders placed in April/May, I'm expecting my order for a Super placed in April to get here in around August/September I reckon. Shipping for Dream Air for normal customers I'd guess Q4 2025 but more likely Q1/Q2 2026.

The prototype Dream is looking very promising with a great optical stack and a pure DisplayPort connection. But there is still a lot of work to be done; inside-out tracking, eye tracking, auto IPD adjustment, audio, mic, controllers. Hopefully a great headset for 2026.

Seb says the lenses are better than the Q3 lenses, hmm, the Q3 lenses are almost perfect, so don't really know what to make of that. Some influencers claimed the BSB2 lenses were better than the Q3's which turned out to be not true so idk. The TTL looks very impressive imo, notice how there's no distorsion/artifacts even though the camera position is sometimes all over the place, would that translate to our eyes being able to be in almost any position and still have a great view, like the Q3 lenses?

Does look good...might be my next headset. I know it's a lot to ask but if they had a little more FOV as well would be exactly what i'm looking for

I'd take everything he says with a giant pinch of salt. I'll say no more on that one.

Will be waiting to hear the thoughts of the early adopters, but won't be ordering one (if I even do) until they are in stock for immediate shipping.

Don't expect amazing comfort just because it's 200g and the brightness is a concern. I'd at least want an optional strap without audio so I can use something decent.

Then there's the tracking...............

It look good *but* as glen has suggested if it was me considering one I'd wait until non-influencers have 1 in their hands to get some real customer who have paid for the headset feedback, which yep means waiting longer unfortunately. Mind you Pimax do have a no quibble refund policy nowadays so there's that. I'd still take everything said in video's of this type with caution. This headset won't be for me I think, it has no wifi and if it does have an MR mode it's likely to be crap.

Same as you guys I wont be dropping 2k on a VR headset until I know it tick all the boxes and I see feedback from real users
