The Intel Arc owners thread

With Intel now putting Nvidia GPUs in its chips, what future is there for Arc?
My impression is that they're more thinking about laptops, SFF and handhelds rather than desktop, but yeah, this could easily be the end for Arc if it goes any further than that.

ARC never had a future after its disastrous launch. The fact that they only produced a few GPUs should've been the clue that it was going nowhere, but it was the AI/DC GPUs cancellations that were the biggest signal that it was killed.

Taken with a huge bag of salt (especially with recent goings on), but if the release date and above all price is correct, i'd buy one to experiment with.

Does anyone have the B570?

Looking in to gaming again and this seems like a decent bang for buck, but didn't know if it actually has issues with drivers in games etc.

I've been using an ARC B580 it's been great, stable and good performance. Probably worth considering if spending a lil more just to get the extra vram over the B570.

Personally if intel abandons arc it will adversely affects its future, AI is going to grow even more in the future and its a market they cant just afford to ignore. If I was in charge, I would just dedicate a smaller team to continue the development of Arc or their derivatives with focus on compute and AI type card even if they want to abandon gaming gpu. I truly believe it will pay dividends in 5-10 years if they make a competitive product and it does not necessary need to be bleeding edge either. I actually think a smaller GPU die in a chiplet type configuration could be more advantages than a large monolith design for AI purposes.

The hand held market is going to be huge in the future also and If they can get competing product to take some share of it rather than leave it to AMD and Nvidia.

Intel definitely have the ability to become huge if they focus on it and don't give up.

Intel quick sync alone in their intel CPUs work so well for transcoding etc for such low power output.

Maxsun Intel ARC Pro B60 Dual 48G Turbo

Price is not given - 'request a quote'. I'm sure @Gibbo will be glad to help.

You will need a motherboard which supports PCIe bifurcation, and I didn't know that Maxsun also produce motherboards.

Kudos to Intel but an 18 minute video that takes more than 10 minutes of filler busting to get to the point about them stumbling across a "36% CPU bottleneck reduction" in one game is just a massive waste of peoples time, he could have made a tweet about it ffs..... but instead made a clickbait garbage video out of it that was 17 minutes and 49 seconds longer than it needed to be.
