Congrats, I've had my ioniq 5 awd for 2 and a bit years a love it still. Anyway with regards to home chargers have a look and make sure whatever elec supplier you have supports either the car or the charger you are looking at. I am with Octopus with an Ohme Pro, does the job quite a small unit but the cable management if you go with tethered isn't great.Just bought my first EV!

Can you not just set the charge level on the charger app each time? On my Ohme pro I just set what charge I want and when I need the car to be ready? I only limit the charge level when on DC fast charge.Hi all,
Quick question for anyone on Ovo.
My charger is linked to Ovo Charge Anytime, not my car. So CA manages everything which is fine as it works as it should.
I have a charging profile set up in the My Porsche app for my Taycan that I named '80' as its the one I use most of the time to charge the car to 80%.
If I want to charge the car to 100% however, do I need to set up another charge profile in the Porsche app and set the minimum charge to 100%? Because as far as I know, if activate 'Direct Charging' within the Porsche app charging section, the charger (Zappi 2.1) will ignore any charging profiles that are active (for example my '80' profile) and charge the car to full 100% capacity.
But here is my question - If I activate Direct Charging in order to get the car to 100%, will that mean the car is still charging on the cheap Ovo 7p per kWh or will Direct Charging mean its essentially like pressing 'Charge Now' in the Ovo app which means it charges at the higher rate of whatever domestic tariff you are on?
Hope that makes sense?
All new EV chargers since 2022 have randomised delay built in.Ohme is funny lately though. Does weird stuff and often only gives you 15 mins of a negative 30min period.
Had a test drive of the MG (kinda) IM5 and IM6 on Saturday.

That might be something they are trying to sort out with the trial I am taking part in. OHME invited selected users of their chargers to a trial where they are paying us every time we plug our cars in even if they don't need a charge. If I remember right it's so they can fine tune charging settings or something like that. Hopefully they will fine tune the app as well because it can be buggy as hell with my Leaf. We are well into month three now and I have had the maximum £16 a month for the previous two months and on track to do so this month as well. The thing is, they are paying me over three times what it cost's to charge the car every month so at the moment the car is costing me nothing to run.Ohme is funny lately though. A test drive often isn’t very long and you can miss things

Exactly, seen a few reviews only the top gear one seemed to not like it much, I had no problems with most of the stuff they complained when I drove it. Of course I didn't drive it like I was on some rally across the backroads of England, so I cant say about its handling on the twistys! For 99% of my driving is on Motorways or urban roads, it was fine, more settled than my ioniq 5, this was for both im5 and 6, and nicer than the CLA. Yes its expensive for an MG, in the same way genesis is for hyundai etc.Given he's driven it, he's properly formed his own opinion on it Vs that of a random 3rd party driving it and giving their opinion that may have outside influences.
Yeah the CLA shooting brake I'm far more interested in trying. The "EV" part of the CLA was great, but most of my issues with size should be rectified with the shooting brake. Only issue is I could see it being at least 3-5k more than the normal CLA as it will include the 400v charging, and an electrochromatic roof. Other issue is things like 360 camera, park assist and intelligent cruise need a subscription, this is included in top spec for a few years though.Isn't the CLA touring going to be the pick of the saloon crop - but unfortunately not out yet; and as IM5/Y competitor the recently mentioned/bought xpeng 6 with it's 800V too.
... just needed a right hand drive BMW like my previous car, for ultimate foot-space
