Random 3D printing chatter

You can do them in the microwave. I believe it's entirely possible to overcook them though and much easier overdone in a microwave. Also less room to spread them out in a thin layer in a microwave....but maybe that's just 'cos I wait until I've got a full container to do before I can be bothered :D

Looking for some inspiration, need to move my printer from my current desk to make space for a bigger monitor, I have space for a second desk but would like to incorporate spool storage underneath, post pics of your setups please?

No pictures but I use 2 Ikea Lack tables, one on top of the other. I printed off some brackets to join them and corner bracing from Makerworld. The table is quite light weight but using the lower section for filament storage and a concrete slab under the printer makes for a very stable platform.

I put all mine in a bowl in the air fryer on 100 degrees for half an hour :D
(air fryer does have different fan speed settings, I picked a lower one as I didn't want to risk creating a dessicnado in there...)

Stirred it up with a spoon after half an hour, the innermost beads were still green so mixed well and put it on for another 10 minutes.

Had my P1S/AMS for a while now and have printed out a multitude of things, which I'll put photos of this upcoming weekend when I'm free from work commutes and endless issues just getting home. Most of my prints are Gridfinity and Ikea Skadis (Pegboard) related along with bog standard accessories.

Added a Biqu big panda LED light to the machine because the stock one is so utterly useless that half the time I was using a flashlight to look inside the machine to ensure the bed was clear of little bits of filament.

My only annoyance is that a good amount of filament from Bamboo comes with it's own spool instead of being in refill form. As a result I've got 5x empty spools sitting around and I'm not sure what to do with them! I try and buy only refills but not every colour I want is available in that form.

Ive found the opposite! Can only find refills and no spools :D

The light on my Elegoo Centauri Carbon is useless as well and I am always using a torch also. I have found a few vented tops with brackets for led strips so I will print one of those to improve things.

I can only find spools for most of my filaments as well. What are you using to respool from a refill something like this?

How have you found your Centauri Carbon?

I currently have a Sovol SV06 but want something faster. It was between the Bambu A1 AMS Combo and the P1S but now I'm getting quite tempted by the Elegoo as it looks like 90% of a P1S but quite a bit cheaper.

It's my first 3d Printer but I have found it to be brilliant. So far I haven't had a single failed print and it does all the calibration itself so it's really easy to use. I am finally getting the hang of the slicer although I still have much to learn. With three cats the printer being fully enclosed is a bonus, the fans are noisy although there are several mods that claim to quieten the fans down but I haven't printed any of them yet. I have printed some mods for it such as a spool holder with bearings, easy empty poop chute, ultra light toolhead cover and the next will be a vented top with led lighting strip support. Apparently Elegoo are launching a multi colour add on for it sometime soon (this year) which I can only assume will be similar to Bambu's AMS.

Ah sod it, just ordered one :D

The Bambu would be nice but I do feel they charge a premium now they have a reputation. I'm sure the Elegoo will be fine for my use case.
