Plusnet Discussion Thread

I did it on the 19th July and they connected me on the 24th. I could choose a later date but I had to do it earlier.
Ps if you are with BT you will be made to make an EE account to end your BT contract.
Nope with Aquiss at the minute, can move from November onwards.

Probably sign up around mid March and pick the 1st April out will that mean I pay the second year price for the first year, the way they word it is so confusing.

Moving to Plusnet on the 18th, keep getting spammed with emails from Sky for me to call them about interesting options that may change my mind.

ME CALL THEM?

Tranlation: now you're leaving us, we're finally willing to offer something decent to keep you.

Bit late!
Can you elaborate, Chris? I just got an email saying the contracts about to end, looking in my account the best they offer is £22.99. Looking at other options like OneStream they offer the same speed (as it's the same Open Reach gear) for 18.50, and have lower annual price rises (£2.75 vs. Plusnet's £4). Total 24 month contract difference is a whopping £135 cheaper than Plusnet. Called up Plusnet and they said the best they can do is £22.99. No budging.

So did Plusnet's original offer to you only change once your contract had actually ended?

Most ISPs do it, you'll only get the best prices to stay after you actually cancel.

I’ve recently upgraded to Plusnet Full Fibre and I’m waiting for the installation. Does Plusnet send out a new router for this, or should I expect to keep using my current one?

If you have a plusnet hub 2
That's what you need
If its fttp you wont need a modem
Anymore
As the ont replaces it / makes it redundant

Wish there was an option to not even have the routers sent to you. Just something I have to store and then send back eventually.
I told them on the phone
Already got 2 of them somewhere
Still unused in the boxes
So asked them not to bother sending me
Any more
Don't know if there's any option other than
On the phone as can be stuck on hold
Quite a long time sometimes

Does any router don't need PPPoE connection anymore eg: plusnet username / password?
My asus router was connected to my virgin superhub (in modem mode), after my plusnet ONT was activated I just connected my router to it, logged in, changed the connection type to pppoe and put in my username and password in.

It's very annoying with old fashion PPPoE as I thought u don't need it anymore for Full Fibre as it always ON

Yeah last I remember
Plusnet still need pppoe user name and password
Last routers I remember using are
Hub 2 (for troubleshooting/double checking)
Hauwei ax3
Dir880l both with standard firmware
And with dd-wrt firmware
All needed pppoe details both on fttc and fttp
