EV general discussion

Hopefully but Octopus have already informed me of post October charges so fingers crossed.
Had my first online insult yesterday for owning a ev, called me a vegan eater so I sent back a picture of the lamb moussaka I was enjoying :D
what rate are octopus going upto?

I'm a bit pee'd off to be honest.
Took my MG4 for it's first service and they rang me at 2pm to say they've done the service and were updating the software so it will be ready for 4pm.
Got home checked the software which should be R63 and it's still on R33 :(
I'll be ringing tomorrow.

They may have just been updating something like the LKA fix.
MG generally won't do a full system update unless you play the game and tell them the right sort of issues that pass their "it needs an update" flow chart or you pay for it.

I would have thought I'd see some kind of number change?

Unless you are having software issues why do you care?

If it ain't broke don't fix it as they say.

[ Indeed windows 7 forever !
when does google automotive OS take, over I want to see freedom of Apps in cars , specifically with native support for higher quality on board VOIP, or dirac

Why would you require VOIP in a car when you can just use your mobile phone? Or am I missing a huge benefit?

Apple are finally releasing their CarPlay Ultra so maybe that's more of what you're looking for? I can't imagine AndroidAuto will be too far behind

Ask Polestar about that, they are having a great time...

If anyone is on ZoomEV they are giving out codes for a £25 voucher for osprey chargers.
Works out to be about 29-30 kWh...but it's free leccy so don't complain lol.

And also a free year of BP pulse membership (up to 20% off, on BP chargers)

I claimed and used mine last year when it came out, then got another email today.
Claimed my 25kwh today- you have 12 months to use it, if anyone is on eon next drive? You should get the zoom ev / osprey offer.

I posted in an MG forum about this very thing, I've had no problems so do I update? I live by 'If it ain't broke don't fix it'.
I also said this to the garage yesterday but he said it will calm down the LKA for starters and they have had nobody moaning about the update so I thought go for it.
A bit disappointed when I saw they haven't done it but also a bit happy since I've had no problems for a year (touch wood).

Software controlling behaviour of LKA is unlikely to be the same software as what you can see the version number of on the infotainment, it's probably an entirely different control module, so I wouldn't assume they didn't do any update at all just because the infotainment version number didn't change.
