What watch do you wear?

A TAG of that era, you're not going to have been able to overwind the mainspring. They can break over years of use and sometimes you might get a duff one, but an auto from 2009 is not going to be possible to over wind, it would just slip precisely to prevent over winding. Shaking it that violently so as to break it? Again, that would be pretty odd.
Thanks Hugh, just cheered me up that I might not have overwound. Don't get me wrong I wasn't shaking to the extent of trying to break (I was tempted mind). :D

I'm trying to think what I might have done to break it. I simply have no idea why it wont work. Would buying a winder box be worth a shot, or bite the bullet and take it to a genuine dealer or third party to fix.

Since then its sat in a box for years (last time I wore and it worked was back in 2009/10). I was wondering whether to take it to an official Tag store, or a third party like Watch UK.
They have a great reputation with Tag and their feedback is good all round, so I doubt you've got anything to lose by using them.
Personally I can't fault their service.

If you can't get it started manually, I don't see a watch winder getting it going. If you really am it'll help, rather than spending money on a winder just yet, wear the watch for a day or two and see if it starts - that would be like it being on a watch winder.

I suspect it'll need to go in for a service. Could be the movement's seized up, or also entirely possible the main spring is indeed broken. Regardless, after that amount of time being unused, a service would likely be a good idea unless it behaves well with good time keeping and power reserve (others argue for periodic servicing regardless of wear and behaviour of the watch; I don't subscribe to that idea).

Always wanted a JLC, finally found a decent deal on an older version from 2008

The strap is very tatty, will need to pick up something different. The opposite side is a GMT equivalent so you can track two timezones.
Its a shame the modern Duoface watches have ended up going with very boring dial textures.

A classic watch. Always liked the dual sided Reverso. You posting this has just reminded me of ArchieLuxury on YouTube - he was quite the 'character', but always banged on about a Reverso needing to be part of any collection in that price bracket.

Hah yeah, he was a mad chap. I found out the watch has a past to the British Empire in India for the polo players, so used any old tenuous connection to justify it :P

I got the Stowa Bronze in 2021 and 4 years later the Hamilton has been my most worn watch due to its versatility and 80 hour power reserve. I also like that I can hear the movement ticking even a full arm's length away in a quiet room or at my desk whilst the Stowa is not audible to my ears. The hand winding is more audible, too. I don't like letting things waste away so am considering selling it on and maybe getting another Laco with the AR coating upgrade again, this time in stainless steel instead of sandblasted grey....

For now, the Hamilton has proven to be great for dressing up or down, whatever the situation

One of the other observations on the Stowa bronze is something I mentioned before, but now it's more clear given the years that have passed, the case bronze hand treatment has kept the patina nearly factory grade still to this day, whilst the buckles are not treated the same way to the patina changes colour based on ambient humidity etc. This might appeal to some who still want bronze patina to be unique as time goes on, then reset with lemon juice and see how it ages again. I still would have preferred the treatment to be done on the buckles too.

Seems I could get back nearly what I paid for it going by past online sales which isn't bad at all, especially as the original strap has been unused.

My old 10 year old forerunner isn't going to cut the water resist, given the sensor has a crack/dent and I've had it open before. So I'll be picking up this little quartz number for water duties - simple to read under water and 200M... total price minus nectar points £4. :D The Garmin will still do the exercise work etc.

Not the Duro.. but unless you're free diving or technical scuba diving.. it'll do.

Congrats. It's a beautiful watch. I have reverso classique (and a memovox) which is very simple looking but I like a lot. The dial is great on that.

Hi Ninco, I own Watch Repair UK and we are authorised by TAG Heuer. If you ever have any questions just ask. Your watch will need a service (recommended generally every 3-5 years) to ensure it is operating optimally.

Of the feeling I have too many watches at the moment. Not been wearing some and trying to cycle them throughout the week.

Keep going back to my g shock 5000u for tougher duties and exercise, then a mix of others.

Some of my cheaper ones not getting a look in. I guess that means I should move them on or gift onwards.

Oh wow.
Great piece

Nice blue or brown ostrich skin strap would look amazing

Happy to say the 200WR took the sea diving in its stride. Was useful in stopping me from loosing time whilst pottering around the reefs and open water.

The Mrs has floated the idea of taking up scuba as a longer term hobby so this will continue to be useful across many vacations in future.
