don't see a problem with it ?

they've got my face on my id, my license.. they've got my NI etc.

it's just a combo of all those, if they wanted to find you, they would. And the social score and area restrictions is pure BS/tinfoil hat territory.

Personally I think it is kind of anti-British though I'm not exactly entirely against it and we do have things like driving licenses, etc. but the way these systems don't have a grip in society has allowed a type of freedom to flourish in this country I think which overall has been a benefit to society despite the potential negatives, whereas a more established system is vulnerable to abuse by those in power.

And the social score and area restrictions is pure BS/tinfoil hat territory.

Maybe today, but it opens the vulnerability for the future.

Whilst I don't like to indulge in Tin foil hattery,

Presumably an obvious first step would be tie it to the Online Safety Act?

Wouldn't exactly say I'm for it but I'm a long way off thinking it's going to lead to people not being able to leave an area lmao.

We are fortunately a long way from that in this country, but it is a step in that direction even if a small one, which I don't think is a good idea, we've seen the potential abuses for stuff like this with the Trump government, even if that is relatively minor abuse of it at this time, and once it becomes more normalised it makes it easier for a future power to take it a step further, etc. (creeping normalcy to get past resistance to undesirable changes).

Get your Brit card here. I was dead set against it twenty years ago but now do not really care. All other European countries seem to live with it.

I wonder if they'll make it compulsory to carry it on yourself at all times. "Your paperz pleaze!".

I also wonder what it'll cost as I doubt it'll be free. Could be a nice money spinner for the gov with over 67m adults requiring one. Then again, it's the gov's IT dept so it'll end up costing billions anyway and be a bit crap.

While creeping normalcy is a valid concern, not every policy shift automatically sets us on a slippery slope. Context, safeguards and democratic oversight matter in preventing that kind of escalation.

It is a precursor to universal income. Initially used to deal with pensions and benefits it will ultimately be credited with your deemed worth to the state monthly.
