Hope so. Frankly I’m tired of this “give everyone a go at it” mentality of recent years and think they should stick with a captain that works if he wants to do it.

Agreed; there seems to be a smaller pool of Captains "queued" up than we have had in recent years; of the current lot Justin Rose is probably the next one I'd expect but I'd also expect him playing in 2 years time.

Was looking the bookies odds for next Captain and Rose is top ahead of the Molinari brothers and then Paul Lawrie but its a thin field.

Is it the official wording or was it very poor of the head of the PGA or whoever he was at the end on the mike congratulating europe for RETAINING the ryder cup ?

jesus wept - the morning after the night before....8 hours sleep and I'm still exhausted...

Great win overall, but looking at those singles - only a single victory is a little concerning.

They did enough in the first two days to win it but my god, they had to all work for that.

Stressful Sunday evening viewing but still my absolutely favourite sporting event - Love it.

Donald for the 3 peat??

Got to be a conversation for sure....

What an enthralling final day, if a little brown trouser at times... USA stepped up, Europe thought they had it in the bag before a ball was hit which probably didn't help. And it showed in some of the play and final interviews how exhausted they were dealing with that pressure cooker on days 1 and 2 clearly took it out of them.

Glad Lowry got the final points after the abuse he received and his interview summed it up saying it'll be a far nicer place to be in 2 years time.

Bradley moaning about the envelope rule. Be funny if they do change it and they get an injured player..

I definitely think dealing with the pressure of the first two days caught up with Europe there. They were immense in the face of all the abuse but playing 36 holes in a day with all that going on will grind you down mentally.

Scheffler was similar for the US - his head looked like it was gone and both him and McIlroy were grinding through 18 holes. Him winning the decisive hole with a bogey (IIRC) summed it up.

Fair play to Young and Thomas for those putts on the 18th to set up a possible comeback.
