I think so. I self host as much as I can. This has always been on my list. Not it looks like it’s been bumped to the top of that list.

More accurately, Imgur has blocked the UK from accessing its servers because they don't want to deal with the OSA, the UK didn't block Imgur.

Awesome, great, grand. Every picture I have ever posted online is now not viewable in my own country... Every thread on every forum, project logs, guides, its all ****ed... :mad:

Nope, I absolutely cannot blame them for deciding on this course of action... But it is lazy and sticks a middle finger up at the thousands of users in the UK who had nothing to do with the stupid legislation.

18+ images are filtered by default on Imgur anyway, surely they could have just made all 18+ tagged images non-viewable in the UK instead of this approach.

It'd soon be reverted if they did, the current Gov' isn't exactly in a good place either.

Labour got in because people were sick, it was a vote against incompetence that turned into a heavy handed incompetent party pushing totalitarian nonsense. People not wanting the mess the Tories made didn't mean they wanted the opposite, it was a vote against a failed party not for Labour or their values.

Also want to state, this is the first time I've seen you so vehement. I did request many moons ago for mods to block me from Speakers Corner so I cannot speak outside of this, but you're usually pretty gentle in how you approach things. For you to be as annoyed as I am currently I really feel that says a lot, I'm tired and I think a lot are.
 
Many years ago an OCUK member had a hosting site that people could upload images to.

I forget the user and the site but I think it was www.two*****.net or something.

It would take a very long post to unpack my position on this. But it is a mixture of understanding the trajectory of this on the technical side and understanding the social side of this and the real issues there when it comes to tackling online harms which I want to see material progress made on and this aspect of the OSA is not that. And a big dose of as I get older losing patience.

I think I understand, and it's also why my "I'm done and looking to bail" posts exist I suspect. Too much time spent trying and getting nowhere with a country that seems to hate me.
 
Well I now officially pay for a VPN subscription.
Can't be doing with this ****.

I'll just start using imgbb and I guess at some point I will have to transfer my hosted images for the handful of threads I still maintain and care about.

VPN is good to look at IMGUR but the point is sharing images with others and it's hard to get everyone else to have VPN.

Plenty of people in the country hate plenty of other people in it as well.

The UK is getting worse. But unfortunately a lot of places are... At least we aren't turning into 30s Germany like the USA... Yet...
